A couple of weeks ago I needed to get a phone card. I had used a phone card that I bought online in March or April and was very disappointed with it, so I was on the hunt for a better card.
I came across a site called Phonehog.com and they were offering a card for FREE! I've seen other free phone cards online, but this one was totally different! When you sign up, they give you 10 free minutes and you can earn 5 minutes for each friend you refer. You can also earn free minutes by reading your email and by logging into their web site http://www.phonehog.com. After you log into your personal page, there are links to click on, then a popup box pops up and tells you how many free minutes you've just earned.
After signing up with Phonehog, they email you a toll free number and your PIN. You dial up the toll free number, when prompted, you enter your PIN. The computerized operator will inform you on how many units you have available. You will then be asked to dial the number you wish to call. It's that simple.
Another great thing about Phonehog.com, you can make international calls, it will cost you more units though and at this time, you can only make the calls from the United States. You can also call from a pay phone. They do take away two of your units just for dialing from a pay phone.
If you lose your PIN or the toll free number, you can go to their site, log in, and request it. They will then email you with the information.
Here is a breakdown of the units:
Each unit is worth one minute
- Signing up: 10 units
- Referring others: 5 units
(there is no limit on referring others)
- Reading email from Phonehog and clicking on the links
(You usually earn 2 units for each link you click)
- Clicking links from your personal page at Phonehog.com:
(Again, the same as clicking the links in your email: You usually earn 2 units)
Your minutes are good for a year from the date they were credited to your account.
I've been very happy using my Phonehog.com account. It's very simple to make calls and they offer a clear connection, unlike some of the cards I've paid good money for. They are prompt when crediting your account. As soon as I earn them, the units are in my account and available for me to use
So far, I've not had any problems with Phonehog. I'm extremely happy with this program and would recommend it to anyone looking for a phone card in exchange for clicking on some links and maybe referring a few friends or family members.
