I've been a stamps.com user for more than 3 years. About a year ago, they changed my $4.99 account to a more expensive option at $15.99 - without telling me. When I noticed the change on my credit card bill, I contacted them and after an hour's worth of ...

Pros: convenience, easy to use Cons: no book rate supported (update coming)
Back early last year I got really interested in the idea of buying postage online. I found that at the time, you needed a special box connected to your computer to do this. Well, I am happy to say--not any more!!
My selection of stamps.com...

Pros: simple to use, handy for business needs Cons: stamping on the right day, priority boxes still have to go to the counter.
Website: http://www.stamps.com/
This is the first thing I have ever known the United States Postal Service to have done for me, that I can honestly say, "Thank You! I love this!". Up to this point, I have usually taken USPS for...

Pros: Good idea Cons: Too many problems
I was pulled in by their wonderful offer -- $25 in free postage. As much mail as I send out, free postage sounded great. And to begin with, the service was great. But after repeated attempts to print postage to certain places, I grew more and more...

Pros: Images can be added to address or stamp; can print on a variety of envelopes and labels; Cons: no airmail, must print addressee's address, dated (so you must use within a given time of printing), and a whole lot of other strict-use rules.
Stamps.com is a service that sells... stamps. You pay a monthly fee (10% of the amount of postage printed, with a minimum fee of $4.49) and you can print your postage on your own printer. That's the simple premise. They also let you try the service...

Pros: no going to the post office Cons: billing errors, hard to log on to account
I was drawn by the advantage of not going to the post office every time I needed to get a stamp, not to mention $20.00 of free postage to start off with. So I bit and signed up.
Then the problems began you are charged a monthly fee of...

Pros: Easy to get started Cons: They like to pass the buck, so to speak
** UPDATE 7/6/2000 ** SEE END OF REVIEW **
I'm lazy by nature. In this small town, if you want to mail your packages, you have to do it on the post office's time. If you are too busy during the day to get it done, forget it, and hope you make...

Pros: easy, convenient, no upfront capital costs, killer service Cons: Won't let you print postage to addresses not in the USPS database(no mail for the Unabombers of the world), Need to have an Internet connection to use it, not yet available to people w/o a credit card (soon tho)
You don't have to go to the post office anymore, so it's time to sell your bulletproof limo, fire your armed bodyguards, retire your kevlar body suit, and sell your Uzi. No more rude clerks putting up the "This Window is Closed" sign when you...
