These guys advertise the lowest price on sites like thefind.com for salon products they don't actually stock. I "ordered" vavoom freezing spray which they claim to sell for $12.95. After taking my order they told me it was "out of stock" and kept changing the expected in-stock date. Finally they just cancelled the order. I had seen on their website where they had claimed an earler expected in-stock date even prior to my order. I don't believe they ever actually had the product, but rather are playing the ol' bait-and-switch game hoping you'll purchase something else from them, perhaps with better margins. This is plain and simple FALSE ADVERTISING and speaks to their ethics. I'd rather spend a few more bucks for an honest company that doesn't waste my time. How about you?
Hold on to your pursestrings....this company is run by thieves. If you opt for "free shipping" they send it out by pony express. Order was placed by customer and the order sheet reflects the correct “billing address” and the correct “ship to” address.
However, the shipment was sent to the “billing address” and not the “ship to” address as I submitted on the order form and as the order form states! I did place the order right and the order sheet is correct – YET, the package was sent to the “billing address”! Why?
I have tried to talk to several customer service reps on Saturday and again today – was even treated rudely and hung up on – and I have received no help and no answers to why this occurred…one rep even said it was my fault!!!! The item I ordered was listed as in stock at the time the order was placed. Within 1 hour I received an e-mail stating that the item was backordered for 3 weeks. At that time and for the next 2 weeks the item was continuously listed on their web site as in stock. I called that same evening to cancel the order. Customer service said they would cancel the order and I would receive a e-mail indicating it was cancelled. After 2 phone calls & 4 e-mail that they never responded to the order shipped 2 weeks later. I refused the shipment and it took Folica nearly a month to respond. I had to protest the payment through my credit card company to recover the funds which was $120.00.Stay away.
Folica says they have "hassle-free" return shipping. This is not true. My product arrived damaged due to poor packing. After three phone calls (with long wait times) and multiple emails, I finally received a return label (as a one-time courtesy). I couldn't believe the way they talked to me. I'm a customer that purchased a $140 hair dryer and the box was practically crushed. It may work but so does my $20 hair dryer. The next step is getting my refund. Wish me luck with that!!! At first I wanted to exchange, but since it's so difficult to resolve a simple customer service issue with Folica...NO THANKS! I'll buy elsewhere. You should too!!!

Extremely poor service. I have been calling up everyday for the last week and each time I get a different story about why my order has not been shipped. One of the items has been placed on a backorder and there is no clear explanation for how long will it take for the item to become available. I had bought the item has a gift and I dont know if I should buy another one from a different website. The customer service number helpline is useless. As long as you are calling them up to place an order they are available 24/7. But when you call to track an order then they tell you they do not have any access over weekends. I was put on hold for half an hour today and yet there was no explanation. This has been a nightmare.

I bought a Solia. Purchasing online was easy, received confirmation via. e-mail within 10 minutes. Opted for free ground shipping and received my product the VERY NEXT DAY. Tried the iron, and found out that it stunk.
The iron itself was very hot, so hot that I received a nice burn on my thumb. :( All it did was make my hair a big, frizzy, dried out, disgusting mess.
I returned it.
Received confirmation via e-mail that it had been received and processed.
I'm questioning the authenticity of Folica's products. My mother purchased a CHI iron and it just stopped turning on. I was about to order the CHI 2" Turbo flat iron, it sells on the site for $115. My friend has the same iron from Bed Bath and Beyond for $185,and it still works great 3 years later. I'm thinking these are defective products that Folica is trying to pass off as good ones. I see a lot of reviews from people saying their irons stopped working within the first year. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond, and it was the best $185 I've ever spent.
Update: Received money back within 1 week of return.

I have generally had good experiences ordering online but my experience with Folica has been nightmarish. I sent in a flatiron I purchased with them for a warranty replacement. They shipped the order to the wrong address (took three phone calls to get that straightened out). The flatiron never showed up - it turns out that they no longer stock it and their system didn't catch it. I paid extra to get a different flatiron, only to have it again shipped to the wrong address. They called UPS for me to redirect it, only to have the package get lost. Again, they shipped one out and AGAIN it is to the wrong address. They are again trying to redirect the package. It has been over a month, I have spent literally hours on hold or talking to customer service reps and I STILL DON'T HAVE A FLATIRON!!!!

Awful. I bought a flat iron, and returned it within 2 days. It was overpriced. I called and was placed on hold for over 20 minutes on 2 occasions, trying to determine where my refund was. Finally, today - a full month after they received the return, the credit was processed. They only agreed to process the credit after I provided a shipment tracking number - I guess if I didn't save it I would have been way out of luck. Also, I notified them that I filed a complaint with the BBB and the NJ Attorney General. Maybe that helped them decide to process the refund. I sent an email to customer service asking about info regarding my return after 20 days had passed. It took them 6 days to reply. You would be better off going to a store like Ulta that really does honor their return policy. Unfortunately, I only found all the complaints about Folica.com after I had my own bad experience!
I had the most awful experience at folica.com. I ordered a Kerastase shampoo in Feb 2008 and have not received it till date. They have not given me any refund and they have hung up on me a couple of times. I will never shop at Folica again.

Generic product sent instead of Brand Name. Folica listed this product by Brand Name, and amazingly had the lowest price on the internet. The Brand Name product lasts for many years, but the generic one they sent has a statement inside the package stating that it will only last for one (1) year.

My shopping experience with this company was HORRIBLE. I purchased a very expensive hairdryer (i.e. $165) that was marketed especially for curly hair. I also purchased the diffuser that goes with it (another $25). All the curly hair people in the audience know that you can't use a hairdryer without a diffuser :) The diffuser was defective and would fall off every time the dryer was on for a minute or longer. After contacting the company numerous times by phone and email (and a month later) they finally agreed to send me a new one on the contingency, of course, that I would send back the defective one. Whatever. Just send me a product that works already :) It's been over 6 weeks. It never arrived.
I contacted my credit card company a couple days ago so that they could conditionally credit my account and deal with all the Folica.com b.s. I seriously doubt Citibank is getting the run-around that I did :) I would RUN, not walk, from this internet vendor...In the meantime, I have to find a diffuser that will work elsewhere or my $165 dryer is useless to me :(
I wish I would have checked the reviews before I shopped at this store. I called about 4-5 days after I placed my order on the 19th of January and had received no notification that my order had been shipped. I asked what the status of my order was and every day I called was told it would be shipped that day and it wasn't shipped that day. I have just been told it was definitely shipped today but I won't get the confirmation e-mail for 2-3 days. We will see what happens. Very frustrating! I don't think I would shop here again but it was the only place that I could get a warranty on the Sedu flat iron.

I purchased a metropolis hair dryer and found it at another website for considerably less money. They claim to have a price guarantee, so I notified them and they refused to honor it. After several unsuccessful attempts to speak with someone, I finally returned it at my own expense. HORRIBLE customer service!!!! I have attempted to speak to several supervisors, and emailed and received a reply from one who responded by saying they would not authorize the price guarantee. All the others have not even returned my phone calls.
Their PRICE GUARANTEE is a fraudulent claim!!!!

I had read several negative reviews of this site, so I wanted to do my homework before ordering. Via Live-Chat, I was informed that they had recently overhauled their system, which is where the problems stemmed from, but that everything was running smoothly at the time I ordered. Everything went better than I could have asked. I received notice of the order, receipt, notice of shipment and tracking info. The flat iron arrived sooner than I anticipated as well. They also included a free case for it, and a free tote bag which is really cute. I would definitely recommend ordering from folica.com if they have what you're looking for at a price you like.

Traveled to Italy, used a voltage adapter with the flat iron and worked the first day but on the second day it did not heat up. At this point I had only had this flat iron for four days! I want to receive my money back which is guaranteed within 30 days of purchase. I am getting getting close to the deadline and am going to inquire with my credit company of what I can do.
I have called repeatedly since returning from Italy (4/2)and sent emails with no response. I have even tried using the ruse of placing an order via telephone and after the prompts get a recording of "extension is unavailable". I ordered a $150 T3 Tourmaline Hair Dryer from folica.com. It stopped working 4 months after I received it.
I called folica.com and they said I would have to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer said that folica.com is NOT an authorized dealer and asked me for the serial number....THERE IS NO SERIAL NUMBER!!!,,,,,,because it wasn't an official Tourmaline hairdryer. It wasn't a sealed box and it didn't have the official sticker on the label...I didn't know about this until it stopped working!
I had to pay another $55 to Micro T3...they have sent me an authentic T3 Tourmaline and have warrantied it for FOUR YEARS!!!!

Folica.com has some unique/quality beauty products that may be hard to find locally. Their prices are satisfactory and their website is easy to locate items, read ratings and place orders. Their customer service is poor. I placed an order and then wanted to add more items to the order and called Customer Service immediately. No one ever seems to answers the customer service phone line. I left a voice mail (which the voice mail message indicated that I would receive a response in 24 hours) which I did not. I sent three e-mails (the automated e-mail response indicates that someone will respond in the next 24 hours) and none of the e-mails were answered. I tried calling the customer service phone line again and FINALLY a person answered. They were very rude and were not helpful. According to the customer service rep, my order had already been placed (without contacting me as my voice mail and e-mail messages requested) and there was nothing they could do and hung up on me.

I originally bought my flatiron in October 2005, then in July 2006 it stopped working all the time; something was wrong with the cord. I called folica.com and they agreed that it was under a one year warranty, and said I could send it back for a replacement. That was great.........only I had to pay for my shipping, as well as theirs. So it cost me about $50 Canadian. Oh well, even though I think they should have paid at least their own shipping since it was their defective product, they were really quick about the replacement. One week after they received it, I had a new one at my front door, for half the price of buying a brand new one, as if it wasn't under warranty.
I am so glad that I have finally found the flat iron that cuts my time in half. I think that the worst thing about my hair was that when I would do it it would just go back to the ugly wavy stage that it was in before I flat ironed it with my old ones. But with this new one I am having a great time with it and it makes me smile to know that I am having a good hair day and all it takes is a bad one to mess up your day.

I really enjoy Sedu straightener. It makes my hair so straight and stays straight for a while. Before this purchase I owned a Hot Tools Professional Ceramic Hair straightener, but it did not work as well as this one does. The one I had previous to this purchase broke. I am very statisfied with this product and my roommate really likes it also, and is going to buy one when she gets the money. She said it straightens her hair better than any other straightener and she owns a Babybliss professional. I recommend this straightener.

The worst experience I have ever had online. I tried both the SEDU and SOLIA flat Irons. They are BOTH so crummy. No wonder no one else carries them. Both did not last for more than a month before they fell apart. When I contacted them about the problems I was having, they kept putting me on hold and referring me to someone else at the store. Then they told me they would call me back and they did not. All I wanted was a refund after I returned the products. After many weeks of non-responsiveness, I finally got them to refund my money. They acted insulted that I was unhappy with their products. Folica does not want to deal with you if you have any problems. I would avoid them at all costs!

I haven't had to deal with this company much, my one order was accurate. HOWEVER, they keep sending me SPAM even though I never agreed to be on their mailing list. I have removed myself from their mailing list at least 4 times to no effect.
Any company that keeps sending e-mails even when I specify that I don't want them is shady in my eyes. I will not be doing business with them again.

With brands such as Visage Naturel, Wigo, Hot Tools, CHI, Aveda, and Philosophy make this site the shining star of all beauty sites. Aside from the sheer amazement of the selection at Folica, their customer service is wonderful. I had a problem with orders in the past (due to my errors) that have been easily remedied by the support staff on the toll-fee number.
Shipping is relatively inexpensive (Free shipping for orders over $75 or $4 for orders below $75) and orders get to you in about three days, which is pretty good for standard ground shipping. The packaging is nice...it arrives in a well packed cardboard box in which there is a nice gift box that makes you feel like you are getting a present from yourself. The website is easy to navigate.

I absolutely loved this place the first time I ever shopped there. I wished that I had a million dollars to spend cause I found so many goodies I could have bought. I bought some of their hair tools and some of their cosmetics. I thought their flat irons were of very good quality for the low price. Then their cosmetics were even better. It was in a really nice bottle and smelt awesome. When my package got delivered it came in a very nice black somewhat velvet pouch, that I will definitely use for something else. I was very impressed!!
Folica's selection of products is always the best and their regular prices beat just about anyone on the web or in the stores. When they run a sale, it REALLY is a sale. Also, their shipping is even quicker than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised and certainly will order from Folica again, especially now that the holidays are coming.

I ordered 3 brushes of different sizes. It turned out that one was on back order. I had to contact them as they were holding the entire order. They sent the two in stock promptly, but I have yet to receive the third. Overall they were great to order from but once the order was placed they seemed only fair in follow up. I was not pleased that I had to ask them to ship the items they had in stock but their prices are great and quality of the product is great and hard to find elsewhere, so I would probably shop for this particular item from them again. The only problem I had was that I kept receiving emails telling me the order had shipped, even days after the order had been received. I emailed back to Customer Service, but received at least one more email. After that, I placed a filter in my email options to send these directly to the Trash bin. Everything else was fine. Please use other shipping methods other than UPS.. I have never had such a problem trying to get a package. I live in an apartment and most delivery carriers (FedEx, DHL, and so on) will deliver to the front office if I'm not home. So I missed the first attempt because I can't sit around all day everyday waiting for packages and then I had to stay at my house and wait for my package on Christmas Eve until 5:30 when I had planned on leaving town early. There is no way of getting in touch with the drivers and they will not give you a "window" like most companies. I could not leave my house all day in fear of missing my delivery. I even put a note on my door that said I was in the shower to knock hard and give me time before leaving. This was seriously the most unconvenient process ever! Read more
