Toshiba M622
by arcy26 ,Jul 02 '07
Pros: Easy to use. Nice video and audio playback. Cons: No front a/v input jacks , cheaply made.
I picked up this VCR at a secondhand shop for real cheap. The cassette window sticks when you eject but other than that, the machine works fine. VCR rewinds, fast forwards, records and plays those old VHS tapes with nice playback picture along with good hi-fi sound output. Looking for the remote.

Personal experience...

Pros: Nice, intuitive features. Good picture quality. Cons: Hardware failures, no front av jacks.
I got this particular Toshiba vcr on Xmas of 2000. The features on it, I found, were very practical and well laid out for a basic 4-head, hifi vcr. However, around November/December of last year(02), the right line-in rca input on the back ceased to provide a signal. I used the rear audio line-in's for recording radio programmes. A little torquing on the jack brought an intermittent signal, which revealed to me that this is a case of sh***y wiring, an art previously mastered by General Electric. And now, as of the 15th of September, the SLP record mode is shot. Wavy, distorted picture. SP is fine, though. Next in line for the quality control test...?
