Pros: Price, quality sound, crisp highs and smooth lows, space efficient and look good. Cons: None considering it's a 30w total output system with basic controls.
GENERAL:
The Yamaha 201 speakers have an excellent sound, very tight, with a great high range and solid sub bass. I own several speaker units including the Altec Lansing ACS46, 2 ACS48s, 2 ACS340s, and the Logitech Z-340, along with the Yamaha...

Pros: Affordable, Clear Trebles. Cons: Insufficient bass.
When I work at a local computer hardware store, I give my customers great advice for their solutions to their computer needs, particularly when I sit down with a customer, when it comes to buying a new computer or even upgrading their computer. But when...

Pros: Great highs and lows, very rich sound, volume control on right speaker Cons: wired inputs
I had been putting off purchasing an external speaker system for quite some time because of my iMac's Harmon Kardon built in speakers. However, my college is discourages the presence of Macs and requires a laptop. Though my laptop speakers were...

Pros: Great clarity and range for package size Cons: Length of cables.
I've been looking at these speakers for quite some time now, but I've had speakers that I've been using for about 7 years now that have sound excellent considering they only cost $30 then. Then I ended up buying a new computer, so I wanted the new...

Pros: Really great sound! Cons: It'll get you hooked on MP3s.
I must admit, I am a bass junkie. So, when someone unexpectedly bought me this great set of computer speakers with a sub for no apparent reason, I wasn't going to complain.
My dorm room isn't exactly hooked up with the greatest of stereo...

Pros: Amazing sound, good price, compact design. Cons: Short cables (except power)
I've been using the same generic speakers for the past 5 years, they came with my computer when I bought it...I've upgraded nearly everything, but never got around to speakers, despite me being an audiophile (music lover). I went to Future Shop...

Pros: clear and just real sweet sound Cons: a little large but worth it
For the money these Yamaha speakers will do any pc justices. The sound is complete as a home speakers set for hundreds less in price. Any mp3 advocate will agree that this set will please the mp3 that you play. It is quite impressive how a little cubs...

Pros: Affordable, snazzy looking, awesome sound. Cons: None so far.
Okay, look now i wasn't actually looking for new computer speakers to be precise, these just happened to come along and rocked out. I could tell automatically that these would be way more rad than the lame-o speakers that I had hooked up to my pc...

Is this 1990?
by parvath_r ,Dec 06 '03
Pros: bass to some extent Cons: cheap quality sound, bad look.
The first thing I did after testing these speakers was write this review. Don't buy these speakers.
What do u look for in a speaker?
Quality, Price, and Look.
When the quality and look goes bad u automatically think you paid for nothing.
I listen to music on computer, play a couple of games and I expect a pretty decent quality in sound.
I fell for the YAMAHA tag, and couple of good reviews, now I repent. I have seen speaker with the same price range (Altec lansing, logitec, creative) ALL OF THEM ARE WAY AHEAD OF THIS ONE.
I bought this one for 22$ including s&h. The moment I plugged it in, I could feel my heart sink.
You get the cheap quality sound and the look of the set isnt anything to boast off. All in all I will defiantly ask you not to buy this one.
Bass is the only thing that will save u from thrashing this junk.
