Pros: budget priced HT subwoofer Cons: go with the PS-1000 for a bit more
The PDR-10 is a 100 watt front firing powered subwoofer with a 10" driver and a rear port.
(ads say it's 80 watts but the packaging claims it's now a 100 watt RMS amplifier)
You have speaker level inputs/outputs and a line level...
Pros: Very powerful for the size Cons: Can rattle if turned to loud
Great little sub. I thought of going with the PDR-8, but I think I made the right choice. I use this with a Yamaha RX-V420 receiver, along with 2 Titans for mains, a CC-170 center, and Atoms in the rear.
Pros: -fairly accurate for size and price
-price
-led "on" indicator on front Cons: -no phase control
-no main power switch; auto only
I am currently using this sub while I wait for my new PDR-12 to be delivered to my local dealer. This unit is much more responsive than I had hoped. I can actually hear tonal differences of those "below 100 Hz sounds" (e.g., percussion on Hotel...
Pros: Well built.
Not a stupid bandpass sub.
Forward firing driver. Cons: Not particularly powerful.
There are subs that generate sound pressure to the point one might inadvertently wreck drywall if you close the door. That is not a problem with this sub as it only has a 100w amp built in.
I bought this when I was on a fairly tight budget...
Pros: great sound, great value, great quality. Cons: none
This subwoofer is the last one I will ever own, unless I move into a football stadium. Tight, responsive, and dynamic. Will shake your fillings out if that is something you require. And just to top it off, the value is off the scale. Go try one.
