When i first got my pc, i had a realy weak samsung speaker system, these went even suitable to play the sound from a gameboy headphone port. then for christmas i got these labtec ones. on the day after christmas i plugged them into my soundcard, and turnd them on at half volume, expecting them to sound just a little better than the samsung ones. boy was i wrong. they were so luod i had to leave the room until the starting sound stopped.

Then sensibly i turned them down. While playing games, the range of sounds these provide makes the experience more enjoyable. The good quality of the construction also allows me to bring them to any lan party without worrying about the speaker falling apart, or the wires breaking.

Pros: Great sound without having to use a sub-woofer.
Cons: Size of speakers could be cumbersome on a small desktop area.

I purchased a pair of these speakers for my 1st PC about 5yrs ago. I'm now on my 3rd PC & these speakers are still kicking out great sound!
I recently purchased a Mac G4 & then bought a set of stereo speakers with a sub-woofer for it, but I put them with my PC & am now using the Labtecs with my Mac as even with a sub, the Labtecs have superior sound.
Once I've comfortably made the switch over to using my Mac I'll be selling my PC with the brand-new speakers/sub & keeping my Labtecs for my Mac - if they 'die' 6 mos from now, I wouldn't hesitate to replace them with the same pair of speakers - only new.
