Great Speakers for an office by officeguy ,Feb 09 '05
Pros: Great price, quality construction, Cons: None
I use these speakers in an office where I play low-volume classical and new age music. They are very clear and bright, perhaps because they are being driven by a reasonably powerful Pioneer receiver/amp(30-35 watts or so).
You want to rock an roll, get a bigger set. These aren't designed to shake the walls, but are perfect for low, moderate and even slightly high volumes. Very clean sound
Pros: Great price. Ok looking. Perfect for rear surround. Cons: Need a subwoofer to be used as main speakers in a large room.
These speakers are a great value. They're cheap and they sound great as rear surround speakers. Unless you're a complete audiophile I don't see any reason to spend more than $50-$60/pair for some rear speakers and these fill that niche quite well. I tested them by themselves in the store and they sounded fine. Not a lot of bass but enough. And when I got them home for use as rear surrounds they were perfect. Surround speakers don't typically get very loud since the vast majority of the sound comes from the center/front speakers. So, for the price and quality I thought they were a good value as surrounds.
