Sony DCR-PC105E nice and small

by superfred , Feb 19 '04
Pros: size, feature, touch screen, battery meter, all in one.

I just change my JVC GRDVM-90 (because it died) for that new Sony DCR-PC105E. There is plenty of features .It can take picture and video and it fits in my ski jacket. Picture The photo are pretty good for a camcorder, but not as good as a 300$ ...

How does PC-105 feels in the palm.

by decoder2 , Feb 09 '04
Pros: Best picture quality in its class with a bunch of additional features.
Cons: the focus ring is not easy to handle, and the infra red emitter gets blocked.
I have read many reviews about this compact camcorder. And all the reviews have one thing in common, that is the zoom controller is difficult to operate and reach. Its too small, etc. I think that,to most of the writers its customary to feel ...

Perfect for the novice, perfect for the pro
by smellygoat33 ,Apr 06 '05
Pros: Easy access to controls
Cons: Delicate parts
This camera is an all-around perfect fit for the technological ineptitude within all of us. It's small with easy-to-follow directions...not to mention a sleek silver design. Sony's done it again!

Great Video in a small package
by fatta ,Sep 25 '03
Pros: Great Video Quality
Excellent Hybrid LCD
Analog-Digital Recording
Small Size
Above Average Video indoors/at night
Cons: Small/Sensitive Zoom Button
The Sony PC-105 is the updated version of the PC-101. I was looking around for a camera with good video quality (as good as can be expected with a 1-CCD), miniDV format, small package, and direct analog-digital pass-thru recording (which lets you convert all your old home movies to DVD). I found it in the PC-105. I compared this camera to the Canon Elura 50 which didn't seem to have the video quality and accurate color representation. The PC-105 has a few features which are unique and very useful. First is its new Hybrid LCD screen. To get through all the hype, basically this screen is very easy to see in bright daylight, and even better in the dark. The camera also lets you shoot in 16x9 mode to allow you to fill the screen on your new wide-screen. This works very well, and it actually adds extra pixels, and not simply blackbars some of the visible screen. The one and only gripe with this camera us its zoom button which is too small, too sensitive, and very difficult to use. Otherwise, I think this is an excellent choice.
