Pros: Ease of voice training, accuracy, speed Cons: Expensive, a few minor glitches
Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred 8 has been a tremendous help to our family, and I deeply appreciate the work ScanSoft has done to improve this product. In this review, I will refer to this product as DNS8. My 14 year old daughter is dyslexic, and ...
Pros: Miraculous accuracy. Ease-of-use. Ability to learn your voice and vocabulary. Cons: Some have reported great difficulty with installation.
I installed the software a few weeks ago, and I've used it for about four hour's worth of intense dictation. It performs brilliantly. The installation was trouble-free, the setup and training was fast, and the speech recognition performance is very ...
Pros: Good accuracy, works well in several programs (Word, web-based e-mail), big improvement over old software Cons: Makes some mistakes even after "training", frustrating at times
I am dictating this review so that you can get an idea of how well Dragon NaturallySpeaking works. I will put corrections in parentheses so that you can see the type of mistakes it makes. I have severe tendinitis that I have had for seven years, so ...
Pros: Easy installation, easy training, good accuracy Cons: Still requires a diligent user who is willing to correct mistakes when they occur
Around 10 years ago I used DragonDictate while working in an access technology lab. It was a pain to use because of inaccuracy and the requirement of speaking one single word at a time. I have, however, maintained an interest in speech recognition. ...
Pros: Fast
Works well with quality digital voice recorders
Generally quite reliable Cons: Can learn your mistakes if you're not careful
Needs a lot of processor power
Update: There is now a Version 9 of this software. I bought this software (preferred 8) specifically because it works with digital voice recorders. I have a hell of a time sitting still and thinking, I really do best on my feet, so a dictaphone was ...
Dragon preferred has been disappointing by nycdoc ,Jun 05 '06
Pros: none really Cons: costly technical support and very poor voice recognition software
I was looking for a fairly decent voice recognition software for my work. I have to write hundreds of pages of reports so a voice recognition would be a welcoming hand to these tasks.
Bought the Dragon preferred and I had very poor results even with the very fast processing computer.
Now, I was surprised that the viavoice by IBM professional edition had much less errors than the Dragon software.
I would probably stick around with viavoice and try to train better.
I hope you guys have better luck with Dragon since it was a big waste of money.
