Mitsumi 120 Internal 12x CD-ROM Drive

I bought a Quantex computer 6 years ago(I still have it) and it came with this drive. It served me reliably for all those years. It did have some trouble reading CD-Rs but such is to be expected with a drive of that age. It went out with a bang last week, though. I had pulled it out because I was working on the PC and the drive was in the way. I hooked it back up, fired up the Quantex, and 5 seconds later I started to smell a burning smell. I thought the heater had kicked on and didn't think anything of it. Well I put in my Windows 98 cd to install some software and when I opened the drive door it started making weird noises and smoking. It turns out that the main board shorted out, gotted hot, and melted the surrounding parts.
