Pros: Top Value for $3K Cons: Poor spkr terminals, poor manual
I bought it for it's excellent video and audio processing, it really can't be beat for the money (yr 2003). Beautiful up-converting of VHS and S-video to component. The surround decoding covers all current (yr 2003) types and switching them for different ...
Pros: Multi-zone and video switching, and very good sound. Good value, all in all. Cons: Not as good sound as separates, not cheap.
The first review is an excellent discussion of various audio qualities, so I want mainly to stress a couple of different points. Since we have 3 kids, various babysitters, in-laws etc., I wanted something to make our main A/V setup easy to use. The ...

Best system on the market. I have compared other systems, but none had the same technology. The points of connections on the rear of the unit ; no other system compares to the 5803. Special features; no other system compares to the 5803. The DLP THX DTS ES technology; no other system compares to the 5803. It's one of the best systems I've seen to date.

I recently purchased this receiver from an online e-tailer and it still hasn't ceased to amaze me. There's virtually nothing you can't hook up to this receiver and there is no sound format it can't decode. I'm using to power a set of Infinity Interlude speakers and it seems that's a match made in heaven. The sound separation is great. Things go behind you when they're supposed to and the soundfield is big and natural. In fact, I would agree with other reviewers when they say this receiver gives separate components a run for their money. Video signals pass through the receiver with ease with minimal impact. Setup was easy and fun. Once all the right parameters were set, I watched Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace in a way I’ve never heard it before. Everything was perfect. The supplied remote and charger/base station makes controlling my entire system easy and efficient. Good job Denon!!
