Excellent Player
by tony_s ,Sep 20 '05
Pros: Small, excellent sound, SD card flexibility, cheap replacement batteries Cons: Expensive++, Poor software, easy to lose
Not cheap but amazing sound. Software poor but functional.
Capable of playing 1 + 2GB SD cards! Extra batteries available at low price. Enjoyed this player for over one year and would fully recommend if it was less expensive.

excellent player crap software
by ultrastar7 ,Feb 19 '04
Pros: sound good
look good
Cons: very very crap software
I have this unit for a week now. I think the look, size and sound of this device is excellent I think it sound even better than my Creative Jukebox 3. Shame the software come with it the SD Jukebox is so crap that you want to throw it in a bin.
The CD content never update with the cdb data base once you have changed to another cd. It is getting pretty frustrated when you have to convert load of songs. I have been looking around but still can't find any alternative to work with the SD85 but what the hell it is a create player

I like it :)
by beejar ,Nov 10 '03
Pros: - Small
- Cool
- Sound quality Cons: - Take time to check out songs to SD card.
- No backlight
- Pricey
I got it 2 days ago, I'm happy with it so far. Looks cool. Sound is good, not that bad like some people suggested me to go for Creative mp3 player for better sound quality. I use AAC 64 and the music sounds alright to me even I use the earphones supplied by panasonic which hurt my ears a bit though. Size is small. I was too scared to touch/hold it when I first saw it. I was afraid I would break it!! After a while, I think it's just the right size. No need for a remote like minidisc player, I think. It's small enough, why you would want to add more thing to make it bulky?

Nice player, but can't play mp3 directly
by osa_ua ,Jul 27 '04
Pros: Smallest mp3 player with SD card support Cons: SD Jukebox, no direct USB
I reviewed this unit in the store. It's pretty small and looks very nice. Everything looks good until I tried to insert my SD card with music and try to listen it. Player won't play mp3 files from my SD card. I installed SD Jukebox and save music to card with it. Now player found music and play it well.
When I checked files on SD card I found that SD Jukebox converted mp3 files to some proprietary format. So you can't just copy mp3 files from your PC to card and play it on player. You need to use SD Jukebox ALWAYS!
Note, that SD Jukebox works only under Windows, so if you are Linux or Mac user, this player is not for you.
Also, you can't use USB to connect player to your PC directly. You need to remove card and insert into SD-USB adapter (it's included but very big compared to third-party SD adapter).

Lightweight but poor software
by rakr1225 ,Aug 17 '04
Pros: Light Cons: Software stinks, pricey
The unit comes with SD-Jukebox. Its a piece of crap.
It comes with a version that doesnt even support
the SD card on many machines. It requires a patch but the
patch often does not work as supplied version is too downlevel even for the patch.
