Pros: Light weight, Decent performance, features, price, smart design.
Cons: Alps Touchpad, Keyboard
The 600m finally arrived after returning the 8200 under Dell’s generous, 30 day return policy. I had to pay for return shipping but it was only $18 so Dell’s evaluation period was almost free. I purchased the 600m to replace my obsolete Inspiron...

I've used this notebook at least eight hours a day for the past eighteen months, and it's performed like a champ. I've brought it with me on tons of business trips, and on its daily commute to the office. I would highly recommend the 600m to anyone ...

IT LOOKS GREAT, CRISP SCREEN, TERRIBLE HEAT PROBLEM!

by flg25 , Jan 22 '04
Pros: screen, inexpensive,
Cons: heat problem, keyboard, flimsy feel, not really 5 lbs!
I did research for a month and it all came down to a Thinkpad T40 or Dell Inspiron 600M. I have had 3 notebooks in the last 3 years, an IBM Thinkpad I series, Sony Vaio, and HP zt1290. These previous notebooks are heavy, churn out excessive amounts of ...

Pros: Light weight, smaller size, most things built in. Good price when on sale and/or coupons/rebates.
Cons: Touchpad
Several years ago I bought a used IBM 760XL to use as my personal computer on the road. While it continued to work, it of course was slow and I was starting to use it more then just e-mail. Since I travel a lot, I felt it was worth getting a new laptop. B ...
