Pros: Ease of set-up and use, plus great playback quality! Cons: Lightweight, no-frills unit for simple everyday use only.

Worst VCR EVER!
by meikel14 ,Nov 08 '03
Pros: Looks like a VCR, feels like a VCR, smells like a VCR Cons: Piece of crap, flimsy case, tapes rejected frequently, AVOID
I'm just happy that I didn't throw away my old VCR.
I've been recommended JVC by my boss who swears by the brand - but what he couldn't know is that JVC has lost it's mojo - a fact confirmed by more and more unsatisfied customers.
Already lifting the entire unit in its box shows that there's not much 'heft' to it - it just to leight, but - you maight say - every electronic product is leightweight.
Unlike most VCRs that use AA or AAA batteries - this one makes you buy special CR3202 batteries - not only are these not included, there's not even a hint on the box that they must be purchased seperately.
The case is flimsy, the connections are housed in equaly flimsy casings and break easily.
Loading cassettes can be tricky even JVC's own brand of tapes are often rejected and must be carefully 'placed' to be accepted.
The recording quality on both S-VHS and VHS is marginal at best.
