Pros: All around great laptop. Sturdy, fast, excellent display, great expansion capabilities. Cons: Video cuts out occasionally, had to replace ram(for free)
The HP Compaq NX7000 is an all around great laptop. This computer was given to me by my school, and it's better than any of the previous 6 laptops I've owned, and better than any of the laptops I've used working in the IT field the past 4 years. There ...

Good Desk Top Replacement
by cliopatra ,May 10 '04
Pros: Desktop replacement Cons: None
Huge screen, good speakers. Very nice touch pad. Battery lasts 4 to 5 hrs. Generous keyboard. Good Wi-Fi card. Blue Tooth and ports galore. Take it to bed. Outside in the patio. Watch TV while surfing in the den. If you want a portable desktop unit that cuts the chain from your desk, the NX 7000 does the trick.
I would not use it as a regular carry around laptop. It's definitely heavy and bulky.

The best laptop ever?
by sjordi ,Dec 14 '03
Pros: Fast, light, battery power, excellent screen. Cons: None
working at a computer center of a major city, laptops are a daily occupation. We see hundreeds of them, buy hundreeds of them.
But so far, the NX7000 is the best I've ever seen.
Fast, silent, bright screen, perfect for DVDs, light, nice keyboard, excellent WiFi, nice speakers, rugged.
Also there is one thing that will probably become a standard, the "slide part" next to the mousepad. It works like the scroll wheel on most mice, but feels much more natural.
Battery lasts for 4h10 on mine with some rough tuning. Probably even better with fine tuning.
I bought the high-end model for myself: bluetooth, DVD+RW writer, 512Mb RAM and a 60Gb hard disk.
Go for it without a fraction of hesitation.
Dell doesn't compete, nor does Sony with their noisy machines.
