Pros: sound good, look good and especially so good deal for its price class. Cons: Call SSI & claim disability if carry it yourself.
I had an old model HK AVR 7000 with BOSE AM-15 System and I had been happy with them for years. One day, at a friend party, I was so impressed with her Home Theather System especially when the Karaoke Party took place(she has two Denons 3803 with some ...
Pros: A very musical and accurate receiver, gobs of headroom, built like a Sherman tank. Cons: Doesn't upconvert video, no DVI. Also, neighbors intimately know my CD collection.
I have now owned the HK for about 2 years, so I feel qualified to write about my experiences with it. I upgraded from a Denon AVR2000 (which upgraded me from a Sony), which is an OK receiver for the money. I use the new HK for 2 channel music with a ...
Pros: Sound! Sound! Sound! Cons: Huge, like a pro P.A. amp. Some default settings erratic.
Like the other reviewer, I was looking to upgrade to a midrange AVR from my RCA STAV 3970 (which to be fair was a great and reliable unit for $200.00). I'd lusted after the AVR 7200 for a long time but at $2000.00 it was an unjustifiable expense. When ...
Pros: Rich sound, great processing w/ logic7 mode,Crisp clean sound best bang for the buck Cons: Remote is huge, heavy stand required due to wright and size
I recently replaced my relatively lightweight (compared to this) avr125 receiver with this bad boy. All I can say is that it blows away every other receiver up to $2000 that I listened to! Harmon Kardon watts per channel are HIGH CURRENT and conservately ...
It's a BIG BOY! A very BIG BOY by mikegehring ,Mar 25 '05
Pros: 4ohm, 8ohm... it doesn't matter... this amp will run it all
Cons: This Amp is "freakin huge" remote is very difficult to use
This receiver is a Monster in every sense of the word. It weighs 65lbs, has every feature you could ever want..(except THX) but who wants to watch Star Wars again?
The actual power ratings on this amp are 116w x 7 ... and an astounding 122w x 2. Harman Kardon is very conservative with their ratings.
I searched for more than a year for the perfect receiver for the perfect price. And I finally found it.
Bought it off e-bay from Harman Direct. YES IT'S REMANUFACTURED!
But in comes with the same warranty that a brand new one does. So instead of paying $2000.00 for this powerhouse I only paid $720.00
Very clear sound, great power with agility by z2895 ,Mar 26 '04
Pros: Crystal clear sound.
Nice setup menus.
Lots of I/O in the back. Cons: Gets very hot.
Can't turn off the power indicator LEDs.
Remote is humongous.
I bought this receiver for dual use, as a stereo amp to listen to CDs, and an 8 CH home theater. My CD player is an ADCOM GDC-600 (digital coax connection), and I run my home theater from my PC (digital SPDIF via SB Audigy2 ZS PP).
I have Energy Veritas 2.1 for LR, and an Energy Encore system filling out the center, back 4 channels, and subwoofer.
Music sounds superb, I don't know if this is because of the Veritas or the 7200 (probably both) but I can have the volume very high and it is still crystal clear. Listening to movies on this is a joy as well, sound is very full with power all the way through.
My only complaint is this thing gets pretty hot. I have a projector, computer, and 22" monitor in my room so I have enough heat already :)
I bought this at ETronics, it was delivered in 1-2 days I think.
Amazingly Clear Surround Sound Receiver by movie-aholic ,Jan 02 '04
Pros: Very Loud, Very Crisp Sound. Truly Amazing Cons: Extremely Huge {but I like that about it}
When I purchased this AMP I was very skeptical, The salesman told me there weren't very many others in it's class. And that it would out perform almost anything on the market today. Much to my surprise it did just that! It is capable of playing movies and music so loud you think your heart will stop, but even at these extreme levels it still sounds clear as a bell! I highly recommend this piece of state of the art audio equipment.
Pros: Awesome sound
Excellent price
Powerful Cons: Very big and heavy
I was looking to a new receiver for music and HT, 70-30.
I was thinking about Denon 2803 or 3803 and Marantz, but the new incredible price of the Harman Kardon flagship was too good to resist.
Awesome sound, a lot of power (100W RMS with 7 driven channel), big and clear display.
