I looked at a similar Sharp model at Circuit City and decided to try this one because I could buy it over the Internet and save over $300 when I considered no sales tax. Glad I did. It took 8 days to get it because it came from Fujitsu in Osaka, Japan, but was definitely worth the wait.
This machine has most everything but a DVD burner, but that burner, like a top-of-the-line
cordless mouse can be plugged into USB 2.0 port
This is my 4th laptop and I find a 13" screen

I found the 2nd 500Mb ram chip to be too pricey
If XP is
more stable than previous Win OSs, then the suspend and hibernation mode will become immensely useful. The 60Gb drive makes the box
perfect as a dual boot Win/Linux box but Fujitsu tech support won't support dual boot.
If Fujitsu would bring out a linux box with
3yrs of 7/24 tech support, I'd buy in a heartbeat. Fujitsu -- are you listening??
I got it with 512MB. Had it for about 2 months. Rarely turned off since I received it and still going strong without any problem.
It now replaced my desktop because it does most everything my desktop used to do, though I would not try to solve a big problem (> 1M unknowns) with it.
The main attribute is the portability. A laptop should be light enough to be a second thought when carrying it, and this one is LIGHT. The bag and the computer weighs about 5 to 6 pounds. Compared to the Compaq 1700 I used to carry about, this is nothing.
Even considering dual booting with Linux.
