Pros: Fairly fast printouts, lightweight, compact, inexpensive, stylish. Cons: Noisy, poor paper grabber.
I bought the C44UX about 2003. This is the second machine I have owned. The first one broke and because it was under warranty, Epson swapped it for a newer one. Since that time I have a few minor problems with it, but nothing bad enough to take to ...

Great Printer for College
by boozzer420 ,Jun 29 '04
Pros: Very Easy to Use, Cheap, Cheap Ink, Great for College Cons: Sometimes fed too much paper through, Colors fade a little
I took this printer to college and it lasted me the whole year. I only had to change the ink once during the course of the year and I did a good amount of printing both color and text. I never had any problems with the paper feeder except sometimes it would send 2 pages through instead of one, but other than that I had no problems. Once my roomate even knocked it off my desk and didn't even break....pretty remarkable for a cheap and easy to use printer!

Epson is my brand
by e11even ,Apr 05 '04
Pros: Size, price, quality, colour, speed Cons: Noisy, small ink cartridges
I had an Epson Photo Stylus 740 which ran out of ink. And the cartridges cost more than a new printer! I'm not sure of this is endemic to South African suppliers or a global problem? I shudder to think of all the perfectly good printers landing up on scrap heaps because it's cheaper to replace the printer than to buy new cartridges. Anyway, I had to option for the cheapest Epson I could get, the C43UX. Even so, Epson's cheapest model outperforms most other bottom of the range inkjets. Good colour, decent resolution, not too slow. And way better than an equivalent HP or such! I will always buy Epson, now I'm just saving for a nice A3 Stylus...

You get what you pay for .....and even less with this model
by juliehowes ,Jan 22 '06
Pros: Makes excellent foot rest when placed under desk Cons: Cheap and compact though money could be better spent
Had high hopes but found it to be highly disappointing I am afraid.
1) Biggest problem was that it used third of an ink cartridge each time as printer nozzles became blocked VERY regularly.Time consuming and irritating to repeat cleaning process minimum of 4 times for each printing session
2) Only light use but in the 13th month its software blocked further use due to expiry of working parts which need replacing!
3) Invariably left lines, smudges and marks on documents (Yes, I did use genuine cartridges!)
4) Noisy in use
