Pros: Very small, good battery life, good day time performance. Cons: Poor low light performance, mean memory card, no case supplied.
I bought this camera for my fiancé as we were going to Brazil for Christmas, and wanted something that was discrete and easily hidden from view. Well its certainly discrete, and for normal use during the day it produced very good results. However it ...
Pros: Diminutive size, excellent ergonomics, affordable, superb video, ease of use Cons: Insufficient memory included, flash ineffective beyond a few feet, no case included.
Last year I purchased a Sony DSC S75 camera for work. I determined I didn't need anything above 3.3 ...
Pros: Stylish, solid, pocket portability, rapid turn-on, quick delete, decent still image and video quality. Cons: Fingers can easy obscure aperture, relatively small LCD, bluish cast on some photos.
This camera delivers comparable quality and features to the Canon Powershot SD400 and the Pentax Optio S (the one that fits in the Altoid tin) at considerably less cost. The construction is excellent, and the basic design makes this very versatile ...
Pros: ultra compact, turns on quickly, works web cam, internal flash, no moving parts Cons: Blurry without flash, trouble with action stills.
I've had this camera for nearly a month now and been quite pleased with its performance. With the flash on, the pictures come out perfectly, but sometimes they are a bit washed in daylight settings. Turning off the flash poses a problem: the pictures ...
Pros: Compact, durable, movie mode, color modes, audio recording, zoom, and software. Cons: memory card is very limited. Slow pictures with flash and sometimes blurry.
This camera has a movie mode that also captures sound. WIth the memory card given, you can record around forty minutes of audio. For pictures and movies, you can change the color mode to either sepia, black and white, or just plain color. It comes with ...
Pros: small size, good quality Cons: trigger button, low flash
I purchased this camera about 1 year ago, as I was going to Europe for 10 days and needed a digital camera. I did a GREAT deal of research online to find out about cameras. However I also had 'personal' experience with this camera because my father had ...
Pros: Small, pocket sized digicam you can take anywhere. Cons: Very poor performance indoors--almost worthless indoors. Outdoor images a little fuzzy.
I've owned and used this camera for over a year. The main advantage of this digicam is the small size. It is so small and light you can comfortably keep it in your pocket (even shirt pocket) all day. You can always have it with you or take it ...
Interesting - but NOT exciting camera!! by hartnell ,Feb 27 '04
Pros: Looks good. Metal build. Optical viewfinder (albeit limited). Cons: Unique Lithium Ion battery (expensive to replace). Dull lacklustre images especially indoors.
I had the opportunity of trying the Xt and DiMage X20 (half the price) before purchasing. The Xt has a lovely metal build, 3 x optical zoom which does not protrude, decent lcd (no protected covering), fast start up and plenty of useful buttons and manual settings. I really wanted this camera to shine ! I paid a very reasonable price for it and couldn't wait for it to deliver results..... and I was disappointed ! Images came out underexposed and a little dull. It hated average to low light conditions especially in artificial light, and the camera shake indicator kept introducing itself frequently. For a camera at this price and reputation it was not an inspiring performance. In the end I saved myself some cash and took the Xt back to the shop. The X20 stayed with me - half the price, but not half the performance !!
Pros: Stylish, good menu design, more portable than most Cons: Focus delay, inability to focus in low light, ergonomics
This camera is all style and little substance. It's small and light and easy to carry around but uncomfortable to use. There is no manual focus and the automatic focus takes far too long. There is no focus light. In dim light pictures are all out of focus. Dim light seems to be whenever the flash is needed. What this means is that whenever you need the flash, the camera can't focus.
This camera is also difficult to hold do to it's small size and lens placement in the upper corner. You'll learn how to keep your fingers out the frame after a while but passers by that you ask to take your picture won't be trained. They will also have trouble with the huge focus delay.
With that said, the camera is capable of taking good pictures in ideal situations. The menu system is logical and easy to use. There are much better cameras in this price range. Get one of those instead. I'm selling my Xt and buying a Canon s400.
SMALL CAMERA PACKS A LOT OF PUNCH by kahbooom ,Dec 11 '03
Pros: Size is unbelievable, attractive, pretty good pictures Cons: cant use USB while charging, customer support poor, be careful when buying additional memory cards
I have just purchased this camera and having used many different digital cameras, I can honestly say that this is the best camera I have ever purchased. Sure you can buy a camera that takes better pictures. That is, if your willing to spend hundreds more and carry a bulky camera around. This is the ultimate camera for everyday use.
Pros: Light & portable, great color pictures, decent battery life all at fair price. Cons: Problems synchronizing camera with computer. Poorly written drivers. Minolta support on this issue is poor.
I am definitely enjoying the ease of use and portability of this camera. Has lots of features but you have to read the manual to benefit from them. Pictures are great and I love the hidden telephoto lens feature.
More useful to carry in my shirt pocket than cigarettes. by beckerra ,Oct 24 '03
Pros: Size, spot focus and metering capability, picture quality, many features. Cons: Easily misplaced, case is an option, A/C power cord an option but needed.
I'm no camera expert but I think it is the perfect camera to have with you at all times. It's much easier to carry and operate than my Cannon A-1 and for simple types of pictures I take at parties, family events, and the like, the results are excellent. The included cord that attaches to your TV allows slide shows anywhere and the video capability is a real plus. I'll use my A-1 for more complicated stuff.
The other important component to the camera is the easy to use computer software. The software was easy to install in my PC. The features work well and can be learned easily. I am able to quickly download images to the computer, manipulate them by simply pointing and clicking, and save them to a folder in minutes.
This is my first digital camera and I must say that I'm extremely happy with the results and feel that it is a great value in the 250 to 300 dollar price range. Go for it!
