Pros: Wide angle lens, CCD Sensor, Smart Face Tracking, Great images! Cons: Price, Minimal system requirements can be a bit much for some.
Creative Labs WebCam NX Ultra: Technologically sound. Wide shot area. Gives me the impression of an old time camera as far as cosmetics go. Mid-range pricing. Sharp, surprisingly clear images. Features and clarity makes the price tag of $70.00 ...
Pros: Great video picture even in very low light. Very easy setup. Cons: Stand is almost useless. Microphone/headset is flimsy and uncomfortable.
This is a simple review. The short answer is if you are looking for a PC web camera that is affordable and easy to use this is the only one to consider. Start at the beginning. I work at night and my wife and I talk through IM to each other all ...
Pros: high resolution, great picture quality, excellent light gathering, simple setup. Cons: Poor quality base (as is the case with all webcams) and no image tracking.
After doing quite a bit of research on webcams and seeing the difficulties that people have had with Logitech, I decided to purchase one of the Creative Labs products. This webcam uses higher resolution video imaging (640x480) and does it well. It uses ...
Pros: Works great even with average lighting. Cons: Cheap plastic base, software bundle only average.
I tried many different web cam and frankly you get what you pay for. Many of the cheaper cams require the light of the sun to work. This cam has an excellent picture quality and works well under most typical light conditions. Software selection is OK and the focus ring is nice and big. Plus you get a nifty little headset. Like most cams, it is made out of cheap plastic and the base is lightweight. I use mine on an LCD panel by using a Valcro "dot" and this seems to work well. The only other cameras that compare are the expensive Logitech. I don't think you can go wrong with either but the EX has warmer and richer colors.
Pros: Good low-light resolution and focus, CCD, great software, great value for money. Cons: None that I can think of.
After a horrible experience with a Logitech cam, I trusted a salesman. Great action on my part. (I even saved many Euros.)
The Creative Webcam NX Ultra has all the features which I had looked for from Logitech and none of the software problems.
Installation: This took me all of five minutes, even with XP, it went smoothly.
Messenger Compatibility: I use Yahoo and it instantly accepted my cam. Again, no problems.
Light Sensitivity: The cam has good lowlight resolution. Focus is more than satisfactory both in low and bright light situations. The focus remains good even at a distance in all lighting situations.
Footing: Although the cam is not specifically designed for a laptop, its adjustable footing for LCD monitors fits stably on my laptop monitor. It also allows the angle of the cam's shots to be easily changed. Five stars for this design.
Design: Overall it's got a nice flat shape, looks good, and travels with my laptop easily.
Microphone: The mike and headset included in the package work well and are comfortable to wear.
A very nice clip on the laptop screen webcam by bigben2004 ,Feb 06 '05
Pros: Very nice resoloution and quality Cons: The focus ring is very hard to turn!
This was bought as a christmas present.
but i think they are about £30 - £45?
i have had tons of fun writing, speaking to freinds over msn..........but when you have a webcam it is a whole lot more fun.
This webcam is amazing as it is in superb quality, but yet it is small and very cheap.
setting up the webcam is a breezer.
you can use messenger/messageing clients such as msn, yahoo,AIM (aol).
For best performance, a fast internet connection 512kbps i would recommend.
there is a cap on the webcam that can be used to focus, when i first got it i wondered why it was blury :-)
You can either have the webcam on your desk or cliped onto the screen of your laptop as there is a hook.either way it doesn't matter.
Also on the webcam is a button that you cna press to capture images, which is quite nifty.
The webcam is self-powered via the USB port on your computer.
To be honest there are alot of cheaper webcams out there, but there are not many that can beat the quality of this one!
Pros: the included headset works great. love the headset/mic!!
easy to install and use Cons: grainy image
seemed to lose focus sometimes and hard to get back
I was looking for a new webcam and I decided to splurge and buy an expensive one with the CCD sensor. I had an older Logitech webcam which I thought sucked so I went with the Creative Labs NX Ultra.
Installation was easy but I think most things install pretty easily nowadays. I loved the headset/microphone. convenient and i think provided better audio for me and the person i was talking to (in fact I wish I could buy the headset/mic separately).
Image was so-so. I was extremely disappointed in the video quality. Later i bought a CMOS camera and the video was crystal clear. not sure why.
Pros: good low light levels Cons: not what ya want for taking pics, get what ya pay for.
Thought this would be a good Dig camera for computer use on-line for sending quick pics to the family at Xmas with resolution at 1280x960 pixels. Its like looking through a cheap lens, not very clear, graining, even tho it has good very low light levels. Im now using a Nikon Coolpix 8800. It would serve better for watching the back yard, front door, etc.
