Pros: Good audio/video, easy to use, quick set up, great value Cons: Mediocre software and poor base stand
My logitech webcam recently died on me and I had to have it replaced. After going through two Logitech webcams in a matter of four years, I was ready to try something else. I have become familiar with the Creative Labs name over the years and have ...
Pros: Good frame rate (system dependent), decent clarity, web updating software actually works. Cons: The stand does NOT clip to your flat panel display, directly contradicting package's claims.
Serious vanity issues prevail with an individual wanting to set up a personal web cam site, I thought. Who would want their face spread all over the Internet unless they thought their face was really worth looking at? I, virtuous and modest soul ...
Pros: Go For It, Great Performance, Great Value, Strongly Recommended Cons: None except for one that it requires a stand/base to be firm on.
Its the web cam with all the qualities I've been looking for. Given below are the great advantages which this web cam offers:- 1. Great still pic quality. Resolution can be adjusted and still pictures can be taken with great ease and confidence. This ...
Pros: Video mode great picture great Cons: problems with standing on my monitor
I bought this camera yesterday and I am full satisfied with it. You have to know next one: if Your computer running on Windows 98 you will be prompt to insert Win98 CD-ROM to finish the installation because some files are required (kstvtune.ax etc..) ...
Creative Labs PD1130 WebCam NX Pro: Not all it could be by rhaller ,Aug 06 '04
Pros: Cheap. Cons: Needs dedicated USB hub. Does not sit on flat panel as advertised.
Drops USB connection when connected to computer or USB hub when other stuff is plugged into the hub. The only way I could get it to reliably stay connected was to remove the other USB device I had plugged into the 4-port USB Hub. I suspect the WebCam just draws too much juice.
Does not attach to flat screen as advertised.
I bought two because they were cheap, and I hoped to give the second one to my mother so she could see her grandchildren. But I can not figure out how to do this for free yet. It seems like the Instant Messengers all want money for Video conferencing. I am going to try net meeting next but fear routers will block connection.
Excellent camera at this price point by chidave ,Mar 26 '04
Pros: Excellent value for the money. Great in average room light conditions. Cons: Stand isn’t great. Camera is light and tips over easily. Included software is only OK.
This is my first web cam. Ive used industrial strength video conferencing equipment for years but I never was all that interested in having a web cam at home. This all changed when my girlfriends family got a web cam for Christmas. So naturally I went and got one too. I did my research and the WebCam NX Pro sounded like the best dollar / value around. I was right. This web cam works very well in average room light conditions. In addition it does 320x240 and 640x480. Image quality is very good for a web cam, better than my camera phone pictures, thats for sure.
As an added bonus there is a microphone included with the cam. It is not integrated but works well when attached to the monitor below the cam.
Once installed properly the cam works well with MSN Messenger 6.1 which is all I really cared about. The bundled software includes a utility for taking snapshots as well but Ive never really used it.
Overall I agree with the other reviews the cam is worth what you pay for it.
Pros: Good attachment to laptop, pretty good picture, nice price for quality Cons: Bad picture in low lighting, Frame rate per second could be higher.
I've been using this web camera for about three months, and of the time I've been using it it seems to be a pretty good little camera. It has a good picture in the correct lighting, and the clip that holds it to the computer fits nicely on my laptop. The picture could be a little better, but I only paid $30 for this camera from Amazon, so I can't complain. You could pay the same for a logitech from walmart but not get half the perks that this camera includes.
Pros: Great daytime video/pictures Cons: Where's the free bluetack for the stand?
Bought this product (first webcam) to keep in touch with friends in N Zealand, easy to install,(win XP) works well with MSN.First hooked it up in evening,in good artifical light.Noticed big time lag,i am in slow motion and fingers are blurred when slow hand waving. Must be the low price
point (£39) When trying again at weekend in daylight what a difference! clear ungrainy picture at full speed. Still
waiting for reply from Creative Support on how to fix this.( Is it a daytime cam only?)
Pros: Good low light quality. Cons: Low frame rate.
I bought one of these for my father-in-law and so didn't use it other than check it worked before wrapping it for Christmas. In that short test I was quite impressed with the quality of picture. The camera adjusted for low light conditions well and the picture remained clear although any movement resulted in blurring but this is probably normal at this price range. I did not try it in daylight where it may give a better frame.
The adjustable legs and swivel and tilt on the camera allows plenty of adjustment for viewing angle. However the camera is quite light and so the weight of the lead pulls it over. Definitely a need for blue tack or velcro pads to keep it in place.
It comes with a separate mic with 3.5mm jack plug.
Very nice piece of kit! by themaxpower ,Mar 05 '04
Pros: Very good picture and a high quality mic included. Cons: I had to balance the cable to stop the cam falling off my monitor.
I exchanged the Trust 380 Sp@ceCam for this and I am impressed. The picture quality is very good and the mic provided is also of high quality. The software included also met all my requirements.
I had to balance the cable to stand it on top of my monitor but I can live with that... Well worth the money!!!
Like Whoa! This is a BADMAN webcam! by timino ,Nov 25 '04
Pros: Great picture, came with a neat little WORKING microphone! Cons: "Meh" software. Useless stand.
This is such a good cam. Worth every penny. The picture is so clear. If your lighting sucks, just adjust and you're laughing (unlike my last webcam, read the review at your own risk!). I'm so glad I bought it, and I'm not quick to compliment things.
One thing that is a downer and EVERYONE else has been saying it is the wuckless (worthless) stand. GOOD GOD it's a useless hunk of... plastic. But I'm willing to tape it down or something. Enough with the disses...
The microphone that it comes with is nice too. Tons of compliments on the both items from friends. So, big ups to Creative on a tight webcam package.
Pros: Great Picture, great price, good low-light pics Cons: Doesn't include built-in mic, no "advanced" features such as automatic zoom or face tracking.
I bought this for myself after having returned a Logitech Quickcam Zoom (which was horrible at picking up light...). I've been pleasantly surprised by this little gem! The pictures it produces are clear and the videos also look great (although I do not use the video feature all that often). I never place webcams on top of monitors, so I don't have an issue with the chord being too heavy. I have it set beside my monitor on a shelf. It works great! And for the low price, it's a bargain.
