It's not a chicken, it's a car speaker.

by tch7 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jan 25 '05
Pros: Great sound, great quality, great price
Cons: None that I've noticed
Despite not wanting to put any money into my Tercel, there’s only so much of listening to the radio on speakers that were outdated in the 60’s that a person can take. As such, I went out and looked for some cheap, but relatively high quality ...

Almost as good as a component set!

by cspu, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jun 11 '03
Pros: Fit "oversize" openings, swivel tweeter, good sound, easy installation
Cons: Included grills are pretty useless. Low RMS power rating.
I needed some speakers for the "oversize" opening in the door of my 1997 GMC Truck. Normal sized 6. ...

Improvement Over Stock Delco's
by richgimmel ,Jan 12 '06
Pros: Improved accuracy and crispness over the stock speakers.
Cons: Don't know of any.
I replaced my stock Delco 6 1/5" coaxials in my 2006 Trailblazer with these Alpine SPS-170A's. The improvement was noticable without replacing the factory head unit. The Alipnes were noticably heavier than the stock speakers, with a much upgraded tweeter. Bass was somewhat better. But biggest improvement was in definition of midranges and highs.

Base distorters
by vvolkov ,Oct 04 '04
Pros: Great sound overall.
Cons: Severe base distortion.
I owned 3 pairs of these over time. Any sort of electronic music with low base produces cracking distortions in all of these. In some to the point you wish you've never bought them. Once the track kicks in and provided there is a lot of sound on all frequencies you will not be able to hear the distortions. Do not buy if you are into electronic music. Great sound otherwise. Handles rock and jazz very well.
