Just got a brand new TRV50 and after carefully reading the Quick Start-Getting Started-Recording and Playback sections of the Operating Instructions I was able to use it with no problem. Of course there is more to read and learn about this fabulous camera.It is the first one I own,but I have been involved in photography for over twelve years and that helped a lot.It was not difficult for me to put down the Nikon 35mm and "play" with the Sony TRV50. The Carl Zeiss lens is outstanding, but the zoom button must be handled very gently.The camera size fits my hands perfectly(I'm 5'8")maybe a six footer will find it too small. The camera can be connected to a TV/VCR for playback and that was a selling points for me.Being a photographer I find the picture quality excellent. After an hour of using the TRV50 you find it's basic use second nature.Highly recommend to experienced photographers.

i've been through many camera's, and the trv50, by far is one of the best. if you're shopping for your first cam, this isn't for you, but if you have some experience and you want some quality, this is the camera for you. i love it!

mine was defected, horizontal lines left of center in view finder and on to the mini tape. sent it to get serviced within the warranty. They serviced it, sent it back free of charge, but the problem was not fixed! very very bad, cost me 100 plus insurance to ship to them, and it is still broken.
