Pros: Very Easy to use,its a SONY.Can transfer to computer. Cons: Battery life average.
I bought the Sony CCD-TRV608 Camcorder about 9 months ago.First of all,I like to say that I am a big Sony fan.The reason being that Japanese products are known to last a long time and are very well built. What I really like about the TRV608 is the 3 inch ...

Pros: NOTHING!Piece OF JUNK!!!10 Year old Sony 8mm was BETTER! Cons: OPTICS GARBAGE...Miserable Picture quality, Bulky, Dumb lens cover....TOO Many 2 List!
JUNK!! Let me preface this review by saying we too were great "fans" of Sony from long ago. We STILL have 2 old 13 inch TV's from the early 80's (one with pre cable tuner that has only 13 presets) that have excellent picture quality and function as...

Pros: Night shot, video light, several different fade effects, picture effects, LCD screen, USB streaming.
Cons: Video software on computer not to easy to understand and no microphone jack.
I recently bought the CCD-TRV608 as a replacement for a Canon camcorder I still own. The Canon is about 6 years old but the technology difference between the Sony and it are like night and day. The Sony comes equipped with a much more powerful zoom, a...

Too many repairs
by budrose ,Nov 16 '05
Pros: Cool low light recording, built in light Cons: Breaks easy, door jams and expensive to repair.
I purchased the SONY CCD-TRV608 video camera, and 6 months out of warranty, the unit needed $200 in repairs, and three months later another $200 was spent on repairs. The service tech said I should just buy another camera and that Sony makes a deficient video camera now. He sees it all the time.
My next video camera will be a cheap obsolete analog video camera from anyone but Sony. And cheap enough to throw away if it ever needs repair.

Sony CCD-TRV608
by chinook123 ,Feb 15 '04
Pros: Not expensive, well made, your grandma could use it! Cons: Not expensive for the quality you receive.
This Sony is an excellent buy for your money.
It is not a digital camcorder with 100 more lines of resolution, however you are not paying for it either!
Well built :)
