Favorite, beloved dishwasher, installed 3/2000, died 11/2006. Cause of death was a $150 timer/controller that required a $100 service call to replace. While I loved the silent operation and excellent performance, a six-year life for an expensive dishwasher is just not acceptable. Our Bosch drill's battery died young too. Bosch has dropped from our household's preferred, premier brand to a don't-purchase-noway-nohow status.

Chose a Bosch while remodeling my kitchen. Worked great for 14 months, then POOF!! It simply shut down, will not power up at all. Dishwasher was used a maximum of 3 times a week. Silly me, did not buy an extended warranty because these were supposed to be the best and maintenance free. I am out the cost of the dishwasher. Don't really want to spend any money on repairing it, if it has broken this soon, what would be the point?

Pros: Looks pretty.
Cons: Doesn't clean a typical load and the tines fall apart.

With me just home from having a baby and a broken dishwasher, my husband quickly ran out to buy the top of the line Bosch, assuming that spending well over $1000 would get us a quality appliance. WRONG! I couldn't hate this dishwasher more...honestly. Sure, it looks pretty, but it doesn't clean everything (and no, I don't overload it), and the "adjustable" tines on the inside don't support a regular load. I have to load my dishwasher "just so" in order to avoid the tines falling over, knocking dishes into eachother. Some of the tines are already broken, as well. I am not kidding when I say that I curse at this dishwasher every single time I load it.
If you only care about looks and impressing people with a gimmicky red light that shines when it's on, because it's "absolutely silent" (which it's not), then by all means, by this overpriced piece of garbage. I can't wait until this thing falls apart completely so I can buy a KitchenAid or GE.

Pros: When it worked, the unit was quiet and effective.
Cons: Broke after 21 days. Bosch took over 6 weeks to fix.

My Bosch worked great, for 21 days (BTW, the leak it made ruined my hardwood floor). I live in a major metropolitan area (same area code as Bosch "customer service"). It has taken over 5 weeks for the part to be found, ordered, and delivered to Bosch's repair affiliate. The dishwasher has been broken twice as long as it worked. Bosch has never once returned a phone call. Bosch has dropped the ball on finding and ordering the part repeatedly. I have spent approximately 4 hours on hold. I tell everyone I can about my experience!

Cons: Poor cleaning, unreliable

The dishwasher was quiet and cleaned like a whirlwind for about the first three months. (It's also shaken loose the screws mounting it under our soapstone counter, so we have to use a screwdriver to open the thing every other wash.) It's gotten noisy (altho not as loud as a traditional dishwasher) and bakes crud on glassware instead of getting them sparkling clean. The troublesome basket on the drain requires the user to essentially pre-clean dishes before loading or wind up with a mini basket of garbage to empty. Our latest repairman (the first guy we had will no longer service Bosch) suggested we replace it with a KitchenAid. "Never a problem with them," he said.

Pros: Good inside space arrangement
Cons: Lousy cleaning action. Very long regular cycles.

Despite the steep price and all the hype - - this BOSCH dishwasher is not so great after all.
We had several different dishwashers and this one comes up the worst. By far. Dishes do not get clean on the shorter cycles. In fact, they do not get very clean on longer cycles, too if not stacked super meticulously. Dough is always a problem, as is soy milk, tea and the occasional grains of rice stuck to the bottom of the pot. Baby milk bottles do not get clean at all, no matter how long the cycles. There are cheaper no name models out there which do a much better job. German quality? Forget it. Not in the BOSCH dishwasher department. If there were zero stars, this expensive BOSCH dishwashers would deserve it.

Pros: The dishwasher cleans well and is quiet.
Cons: Most unreliable appliance ever. Customer service unresponsive and poor.

My Bosch dishwasher has leaked and ruined my kitchen floors 3 times. I have also replaced the control panel 5 times. My out of pocket repair costs have been $900.00 over 6 years. I replace a perfectly good dishwasher with this $900.00 washer with the objective of having a trouble free dishwasher. I could not have been more wrong. The repair company even keeps extra control panels because on the number of machines that break.

Cons: Bad docs on Quieting the Cycle Completion Signal

Unit works superbly once I figured out the beeper issue below. The only noise you hear is the water into the disposal at the sink.

Quieting the Cycle Completion Signal:

The manual is 100% wrong on silencing the
"end of cycle" beeper (Cycle Completion Signal).
Here is what you really have to do:

1) Power Off
2) Press and Hold Delay Start
3) Press and Hold On/Off
4) LED will now show settings of 0, 1, 2 as you press and release the Delay Button.
5) 0 = OFF
6) Release both buttons and you are set.
7) Next time you power on you may have to set the delay back to zero since it thinks the previous session was setting a Delay.

Worked for this Model and I think all with hidden controls and an LED panel.

In the short time we have owned this dishwasher, the tabs which hold the dishwasher in place have broken. I have never recieved a return call from Bosch's customer service: I have called, e-mailed and finally faxed and mailed them a letter expressing my unhappiness with their lack of response; our local (Portland, Or) dealership also has tried to contact them with the same results...nothing. I would never buy another Bosch product because of their lack of concern for the customer.
