Excellent all in one amp
by wranglertj ,Oct 01 '05
Pros: 2/3/5 channel configurations
Superior sound quality
Clean Install Cons: none yet
This is a great amp for anyone who wants excellent sound and quality and has limited space. It does have a smaller footprint than other comparable amps. Like the other reviewer, I got a great deal $260 on ebay. I'm using all 5 channels (4x50 1x200 sub @ 4 ohm) to drive two pairs of Polk Momo 650's and a 8" Polk Momo sub. The sound is unbelevable. Adjusting the gain on all the channels per Alpines recommendations puts a lot of power to all the speakers. If you use 2 ohm speakers or dual voice coils you get double the power output. That's almost 800 watts. I installed this in my Jeep which has NO space and I'm entirely pleased with the crisp clean sound and power.

Alpine MRV-F450
by s-o-m-e-g-u-y ,Feb 03 '04
Pros: Decent power, only requires 8 gauge power. Looks good, also has a small footprint. Cons: More power to the door speakers would be a plus.
A good all around amp, it features 4x50w, and a 1x200w sub channel all combined into one. Looks sharp, especially with the included installation hardware; the two end-covers really make it look clean. I upgraded my stereo with one of these, and an Infinity 1030W reference 10" sub, and it all sounds REALLY good!
Got it for a fair price ($260 on ebay), and fits nicely in my '03 Dodge Neon. Along with the sub, I also have a set of Pioneer TS-D690R's on the back deck, and a pair of TS-D170R's on the front doors.
Something I also noticed after installing this amp is that the usual speaker his was gone, along with the sound of my CD deck spinning up (no, it wasn't a grounding problem!). This was after upgrading from a Sony XM-475GSX (and previously a Sony XM-450). I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for a good all-in-one amp solution for their car stereo!

MRV-F450 = Quality Sound
by stephenallan7 ,May 19 '08
Pros: Big power, clean sound, superb separation, drives a big bass and durable quality. Cons: Big install, long wires, complex switch setting; much crossover/gain dial tweeking.(oh, we want that).
Done 3 years ago using all 5 channels. Alpine head (CDA-9851) and amp go well with Infinity speakers all around and 10" Infinity bass in trunk of Camry LE. My first install and the amp set up (beginner me) was very complex for crossovers and swith settings - as always comes down to sound you like. Has run very well for these 3 years with superb, clean sound. First upgrade was adding a .5 Farad capacitator; second was iPod cable (KCA-420i) to head unit. I'm amazed by quality of sound via CD; iPod or FM. Just now upgrading core audio by moving door speakers to floor kick panel sound enclosures. Hope to move sound to front of vehicle instead of sideways from door panels - Face the stage. I did a "jump in with both feet" solution using Alpine and Infinity. Infinity Kapppa perfect 10.1 bass; Kappa 6X9 692.5i 2-way back; 6.5"component front.
