Akai CFTD2083 20 inch TV/VCR/DVD Combo TV

Pros: .....er. Picture acceptable.
Cons: VCR ruins tapes and DVD freezes 10 minutes into play.

Worse than worthless as a combo set. Glad I was able to return it and get another brand. The VCR is so far out of alignment that it ruins the sound track of tapes. As for the DVD, it says it will play VCDs...it won't. The DVD player freezes every 10 minutes and you have to re-start and find the place where you left off. That's fun!! Don't buy Akai.

Pros: Nice screen. Good looks.
Cons: Poor quality sound. VCR non-functional just out of warranty.

Nice looking unit and the screen is great. The sound, however, is low quality - It's almost a muffled quality - but tolerable. I expected better from Akai, however.
The VCR function went "bye bye" just out of the warranty period. Akai's customer service person was helpful in locating a repair shop BUT you have to deliver the TV to them because you didn't purchase one of those huge units that only a crane can move. Since I live in a 2nd floor condo & had a heck of a time getting the unit up the stairs once, I decided to dust off my old VCR & hook it to the Akai.
All in all - this unit is disappointing.
