What, no throwing torches? But the boxers are nice.

by 32_Footsteps Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, May 09 '02
Pros: Smooth graphics, decent sound and graphics, the boxers
Cons: Little variety
I had heard about Maximo nearly a year ago, and I was practically salivating at the chance to play it. Billed as the successor to Capcom's classic side scroller "Ghouls and Ghosts" (or "Ghosts and Goblins," depending on where you first saw it), I had...

Maximo: Just Averagemo.

by Alkaiser Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Mar 01 '02
Pros: Graphics are nice, mindless action.
Cons: Shallow gameplay, the inordinate amount of jumping around.
Prior to this game's release Capcom did something that I don't understand, and at face value, is probably one of the stupidest things ever done in the history of a game's release.

They released it for rental 1 week before they launched it for...

Ghosts To Glory? Yeah, I Got Your Maximo Right 'Ere

by kenshin-guy , Jun 15 '02
Pros: Nice revival of Platformer games, seeing Maximo in boxers is great
Cons: Graphics, Sound, Camera Angles, Repetitive, Pretty Unforgiving
Granted, a game that has the title Maximo suggests certain things. Hell, the title itself means "the most" which in turn could be translated in one's mind to mean "the greatest", but don't judge all games by their covers. Maximo is a bit of...

Ghosts-n-Goblins 2002

by phungus, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, May 10 '02
Pros: Nice graphics
Cons: Crappy controls, save game feature stinks, too frustrating overall
Maximo: Ghosts to Glory is an updated version of the popular Ghosts ‘n Goblins games for the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). I didn’t realize this at first, but you will immediately recognize the lead character if you’ve ever played the NES games....

"A Maximo Story"

by ctn001 , Feb 02 '02
Pros: Good control, sound, characters, game play.
Cons: Camera angles!!!
Our story begins with brave Maximo returning from a war. To his surprise, when he returns he notices his kingdom is not the way he remembered. Skeletons, zombies, and other undead freaks are now roaming his land. To make matters worst, Achille has...

Maximo returns minimo satisfaction

by Motor_Head , Jul 20 '02
Pros: Combat modes, animation
Cons: Save feature, or essential lack thereof. Overly repetitive levels that lack any real theme.

I am an extremly picky game buyer. I thought that
maybe I was just way outside the demographics of most
gamers, but evidently, I'm not.

So, I'm mid 40's, middle management, married with kids
and I don't have a lot of time...

Ghosts n Goblins grew up into a great PS2 game named Maximo

by bmills313 , Nov 18 '02
Pros: Great gameplay, classic storyline, wonderful sound and graphics
Cons: Camera can be a bit annoying at times. It's a tough game!
Don't you just love it when you start to realize you're getting older and you long for the days of yore when video games were simpler and had a common theme and just as you get ready to give up hope that you can never relive those days using the fun new...

MAXIMO is a blessing from the gods!!!!

by psfantasia , Nov 03 '03
Pros: Just about everything
Cons: Those damn birds!!!!!
Oh my God, this game rocks in so many ways! If you like 3rd person adventure games like Darkcloud (PS2) or Midevil (PSone) then this is a great game for you. Maximo is built on the Ghouls & Ghost engine, which means that it has traits of the old Ghoul ...

Excellent yet challenging game
by aquablackmage ,Nov 11 '03
Pros: Great variety in abilities.
Cons: Hard to totally master if you are impatient.
Maximo is a good game to buy if you want a game that will keep you busy for hours. The game is pretty difficult to beat, but what it lacks in easiness it makes up for in fun. You can gain over 20 powers for Maximo, and play more than 30 levels. This is a must play game.

I am hooked on this...
by princess_dt3000 ,Jan 14 '03
I am hooked on this game. I have been playing it for over a month. It is great that it has so many levels. The only that is really hard is making some of the jumps. Some are next to impossible. I have been stuck on level 25 for a few days because I haven't been able to make one of the jumps. I continually get killed and have to start over again.
