by meleahk Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Sep 27 '01
Pros: A way to re-establish one's credit.
Cons: High fees, charges for everything!
Credit Cards? We all have them! But at what price do we pay! With First Premier a big one!

Last year (2000) we got a First Premier credit card. Why? Because we were stupid that’s why! But, in our position, we had to re-establish our...

First Premiere Loan Sharks?

by Writerip , Jul 31 '01
Pros: I suppose if your credit is bad, this card could prove helpful.
Cons: Ridiculous, hidden fees.
I'll admit I made a hasty decision. The credit card offer arrived via e-mail. My credit is good. So is my husband's. But on a whim I decided to apply to give myself the cushion of an extra credit card.

This was probably one of the most foolish...

by mdetora , Oct 23 '00
Pros: None
Cons: Fees are outrageous, customer service is mean, nasty and rude
I received an letter from First Premier Bank in Sioux Falls, SD indicating that I had been pre-approved for an unsecured Visa and Master Card with a credit limit up to $1,000 each. I sent in the application including a non-refundable express fee of...

DON'T SEND IT IN!!!!

by dpoppitt , Jul 26 '01
Pros: None.
Cons: "No processing fee" advertised but over $175 in fees charged up front. Total rip off.
This company is a total fraud. Their mailing states that you are pre-approved with "NO SECURITY DEPOSIT OR PROCESSING FEE!" (Emphasis theirs.) On the REVERSE of this piece of propaganda is a list of the processing fees they DO charge.
Account...

I have a First Premier Secured Visa Card and I love it.

by sniffers , May 27 '01
Pros: They give people a chance that either have no credit or bad credit.
Cons: Their increases are very tight. It takes a while to prove credit worthiness.
I just wanted to give you my opinion on the First Premier Secured Visa. I originally applied for their Unsecured Visa but after checking my credit I did not qualify. However they did offer me their secured card with a 200.00 minimum deposit. I mailed...

First Premier Bank did well by me

by val-e , Apr 18 '08
Pros: A way to reestablish your credit if you have no other way,low interest rate.
Cons: Too many fees, initial low credit limits and sometimes stingy with increases.
Like some of the people who have given reviews, my credit due to a divorce was in the toilet. I had received mailings from First Premier a number of times before and would throw them away after reading what the fees were. In September of 2005 I had no ...

Don't do it

by mizzcheryl7 , Apr 17 '06
Pros: None that I can think of unless you can't get credit anywhere else.
Cons: HIGH FEES!!
I just got my Premier Visa in the mail. I was approved for a credit limit of $250 and after their outrageous fees, my available credit limit was $72. The day after the card arrived, I received a bill in the mail (of course I hadn't charged anything thus ...

COLLECTORS DREAM-1ST Premiere Bank

by basaladino , Sep 25 '08
Pros:

I have no pros for these companies who prey on the impoverished.

Cons: I have no cons for these companies who prey on the improverished.
As a former collector I am experienced with these fraudulant companies such as CAPITOL ONE AND 1ST PREMIERE BANK CREDIT CARDS. These companies prey on the unsuspecting comsumer and hand out cards to anyone. No credit required. They collect on the ...

Horrible company

by xdizzy , Jul 22 '08
Pros: About half of the customer service reps are kind and helpful.
Cons: Everything dealing with the actual company.
My identity was stolen, and I've been receiving calls from reputable companies (discover card, etc) about accounts trying to be opened in my name. So I ordered a credit report, and find a credit card issued from First Premier Bank (a company I never even ...

by creatinchaos , Oct 27 '05
Pros: NONE WHAT SO EVER
Cons: EVERYTHING about this card and offer is a BIG joke people!
What a joke! My wife got the "Pre-Approved Gold MasterCard” in the mail today. She asked me to read it over and see if it was worth applying for. Boy am I glad I did! We are going on a nice vacation this year with money we have saved for years. My ...

Like paying excess fees? You'll LOVE this card

by cochranb , Oct 11 '07
Pros: Payments are reported to bureaus Customer service okay
Cons: Fees Does it make sense to charge someone to make a payment?
I received this card almost a year ago. I read all the fine print, so I knew what I was getting myself into as far as set-up fees. I didn't like the deal, but I really needed to try to rebuild my credit. I got my card and kept up on the payments, ...

First Premier Bank is Not What they say they are!!!

by crbernard , May 29 '07
Pros: Treating their customers like they are one of the family.....Crooks that is!!!!!
Cons: They are great in deception, high fees, and slow credit increases.
I had a First Premier card for almost three years and I also thought I was one of the ones that happen to have a good experience with them. I was so wrong. I used my account number online to make two payments on my account and it was entered in wrong. ...

I back this card

by padrede3 , Jul 03 '01
Pros: Providing credit when credit is hard to obtain.
Cons: Credit limit increases could be set higher.
My experience with First Premier has been, for the most part, positive. Customer service is good, no problems using the card, etc. The only drawback I've found is trying to determine my actual available credit via phone. If you have a standing charge to...
