Acoustic Research AR 2C Speaker

Pros: Best sound for the money, quality construction, adjustments
Cons: A Bit heavy and/or large

I recently purchased this speaker and have not been disapointed.

Keep in mind that this speaker is very large and heavy (~35lbs), so keep this in mind. It is of course magnetically shielded but due to the size and weight, I wouldn't recommend...

Pros: Superbly balanced and neutral. very capable of honest deep bass, .
Cons: A bit on the large, heavy side, but look at what you are getting

Now here is a HT center channel done right! Enclosed with a 6.5" down firing vented sub, dual 5." Mono-icock mids and their proprietary unique 1" dome. Also has a selectable level switch. Too bad AR quit making this unit as it was hands down the best center channel out there- all though a bit on the large side but very powerful and super detailed sounding. While I am a large fan of the older AR line, this is the one redeeming unit for their modern line. I have tried other center speakers in the place of this one and this unit just keeps holding its own and better. Voices sound very neutral, no colorations or boom or peaks. Good luck trying to find them now- those who have them keep them for good reason!
