Pros: Sound, power, modes, build quality. Cons: Runs warm, limited to s-video.
I've had mine since '97. Got it from an insurance company as replacement for stolen Carver RCVR and Yamaha surround processor (E300?). It's got loads of power! I run Infinity studio monitor mains and center channel, 4 Kenwood surrounds, and a Klipsch powered sub. I can't go past 1/4 turn on the volume control, or the police are on the way. I use the 70mm Movie Theater setting for most movies, and it sounds fantastic! To me, the only thing "dated" about it, is it's video capabilities. The best it has is S-video. I use it for laserdisk and vcr, and run dvd and hdtv cable and hdtv sat through a component video switch. I run my htpc audio through it, and use dvi-i to 92" fptv. It's going to be around for awhile!!!
