This camera is a great camera for both the beginner or a pro. In the auto program mode, the camera can adjust which program is "best" for you automatc. No other camera in the market has this feature. For the advanced photograper, you can use the full auto program or you can select your own settings. In other words, you will not "out grow" this camera. The controls are placed well, the camera feels well balanced and the features are great for a camera at this price. In the dark, when you turn on the camera, it has a great feature that "lights up". This helps you find which program setting you what to select. Believe me, it comes in handy. With over 25 years in photograpy, shooting weddings and using the Pentax Medium 645 camera, this Pentax model is a great camera for a "simple to use camera" or to use more "advanced features."
