Pros: remarkably neutral sound; excellent deep bass Cons: heavy; uncomfortable after an album or two
The Koss Pro4s were THE headphones to have during the 1960s and 1970s. By the time I became interested in audio, in the 1970s, Koss Pro4aas were the best dynamic headphones available. Bulky, heavy, and comfortable only for an album or so, they were the...
Pros: -Excellent sound quality, -Great price Cons: -Not the most comfortable headphones
Express Section: These are some of the best headphones I have ever heard. I cannot imagine anything sounding better or more realistic. The 'phones are heavy and make your ears hot, but the sound is well worth it. Whether you are an audiophile with ...
Pros: Incredible depth of sound. Cons: They are heavy.
In the '70's, I was a DJ at the college radio station and afterward had a show for 5 years in Jacksonville. I remember the Koss Pro 4aas well. Back then, they were the set by which all others were measured. Built like a rock, they had a smooth range...
Pros: Indestructible! Covers the entire audible range with authority! Connector for MIC BOOM. Cons: Causes ear perspiration and a bit uncomfortable over lengthy periods.
In this day of jogging and sporting in general, one simply thinks of lightweight performance and de ...
Pros: Very clear high notes. Sturdy construction. Cons: Heavy, ears get sweaty after a few minutes.
A while back I wrote a mixed review regarding these headphones, I would like to retract that. After a comparison with other Koss Pro 4AA's I realized that the headphones I purchased and then returned were defective. The base on the defective headphones...
Pros: Great frequency range, powerful, clear sounding Cons: heavy but expected
This set of headphones are the best headphones you could buy without spending a fortune. They have great bass and treble response... basically the full range of hearing with clear crisp sound. With these, you hurt before the sound even distorts....
Pros: Nice clear sound
Closed cup design blocks noise
EXTEMELY durable Cons: Heavy but expected
Cord isn't modular
I started with cheap phones, but finaly put up the money for a pair of Koss R100s.
The R100s worked great, but wound up breaking, these are hard plastic phones and probably would be fine for most people. But not me. I got a new set from Koss...
Pros: Great sound quality, isolate your music from outside noise. Cons: Heavy and will become uncomfortable after a while of use.
These are excellent headphones for picking out all the parts of music, great bass and great highs. They cover everything in between very well. However they are a bit heavy, but they make up for weight by enclosing your ears which blocks out alot of outside noise compared to open ear headphones which is nice if you live in a noisy area. I highly recomend this product for people who love to listen to music and are looking for good, durable headphones that will last.
Pros: Ambient noise isolation is the best, and frequency response is unequaled. Cons: short out easily. Rather heavy...
These headphones are, as far as I'm concerned, the world standard in excellence. This model has been around for almost 40 years; If you treat them carefully, don't yank or stress the cables they will serve you well. BTW, it seems like the price has come down too. We were paying close to $100 for them in the old days, if memory serves. I used them when I was doing Top 40 radio in the 70's and you could blast them and they kept on going. Ambient noise isolation is the best, and frequency response is unequaled. I absolutely love these headphones.
The downside (and this is a serious matter) is that they tend to short out easily. Brand new phones are good for daily radio use (6 hours a day 6 days a week) for only about 6 months before they start to short out. Koss needs to do something about this long-standing problem. Sony, on the other hand, never short out.
Plus, they are rather heavy; put a mic on these things and they are downright bulky.
Pound for Pound - Dollar for Dollar..The Best! by hammerogod ,Jun 27 '05
Pros: Sparkling sound, clear and realistic.
Cons: Not as comfortable as they could be.
True Dynamic Range.
Clear, well defined Bass.
The Upper range is clear and Dynamic.
These headphones are well capable of producing far more sound than most of us can hear.
The best you can get for under $150.00.
They really don't have any competition in the mid-priced group.
