Panasonic SL-SX270A CD Player - Headpones Must Go

by dkozin dkozin is a Lead on Epinions in Electronics, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, May 05 '01
Pros: Excellent sound (with proper headphones), quality, great ASM, plays scratched CDs
Cons: Volume control looks cheap
Although Panasonic SL-SX270A CD player is the cheapest CD player from Panasonic, it is not by any means limited in features and sound quality.

ASM

The CD player has 40 seconds of Anti-Shock Memory. Even with...

Cheap, entertaining, and it plays CDs!

by Anniemal , Dec 10 '00
Pros: sleek, plays clearly, 40-sec anti-shock
Cons: no radio
I needed a cheap portable CD player, and I needed it quick. So a couple of months ago, I purchased the Panasonic SL-SX270 at the local BestBuy. It basically serves the purpose of playing CDs clearly with simplistic operations. It was reasonably...

Solid and portable

by hbj200 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 10 '00
Pros: Very portable, inexpensive, great sound output on hi-fi stereos, very user-friendly, stylish, superb anti-skip system, made in Japan
Cons: None significant
The SL-SX270 is a basic portable CD player. There aren't many fancy features, just your basic play-and-go functionalities. Since I only wanted an inexpensive, good portable CD player, the SL-SX270 fit the bill perfectly and has exceeded my...

Great Product by Panasonic

by krnboy12345 , May 20 '01
Pros: The ASM rocks, Compact, Inexpensive, Battery Life, Sound, Good Button Layout, Case and Easy Operation
Cons: No LCD on remote, Headphones
This is basically my first venture into the world of portable music. I was looking for a decent player of some sort to play my tunes on. I looked at Mini-disks, MP3 players, and CD players. Based on how much I needed and how much money I had, I decided...

A great choice

by alectosis , Apr 20 '01
Pros: Great skip protection, good battery life, EQ settings better than most, small, lightweight
Cons: Poor headphones
I'd like to consider myself and audiophile (someone very criticle of music), but I don't have alot of cash. So I was in search of a CD player that might bring the level of enjoyment that I get listening to expensive stereo systems.
I did...

Functional, Attractive, Useful

by mjwise , Dec 27 '00
Pros: great battery life, attractive but not gimmicky, reliable, functional
Cons: mediocre head phones, only one analog output, "Train" equalization sounds terrible
I read around a lot, including at epinions, and decided that this player was what I was looking for. I purchased it from an online retailer. I immediately liked the attractive, not gimmicky and tacky, color and trim of this CD player. I was impressed...

Make a $50 investment last several years

by brunildu , Feb 10 '02
Pros: Cheap, reliable, excellent battery life, good sound, no skipping whatsoever.
Cons: doesn't come with a modem (kidding)Like most CD players headphone is poor.
Even though I am starting to hate Panasonic brand, I could not allow my Bias to take over me on writing this review, this is a great player.

I bought this model when it had just come out, perhaps 3 years ago, but I am not 100% sure.

The Chosen One

by mza , Dec 30 '00
Pros: Sound!
Cons: N/A
I recently went on a seemingly endless hunt for the "right" personal CD player that would both suit my needs and fulfill my wants. My search began with a Christmas gift of a Sony D-E200. I was very displeased with this player. First of all...

PANASONIC!

by bigjohnsonmix1 , Apr 17 '01
Pros: Just about Everything
Cons: digital screen non-luminating
One major factor that played a role in me buying this type of cd player, was the price. I actually bought it on sale at Circuit City for $54.99 as opposed to their retail price of $62.99. It was money well spent. It came with a car kit(cigarette...

problem free

by gweeger , Feb 17 '01
Pros: Portable, Long battery life, easy, durable, clear sound
Cons: what more could you want?
I found a discman on sale for $50 (canadian) and picked it up. The discman worked great...I thought. It only had 10 second anti-shock and it ate up batteries every two days. So I returned that one, and went to find a more practical discman. I...

by EvilMunchkin , Nov 30 '00
Pros: Great price, brand, sound, size, looks, features.
Cons: Headphones aren't great. I bought one that fit in ear for a few bucks.
This is a very good portable cd player. This happened to be my first one to purchase. I spent hours looking over all the models. I wanted great features, brand, and PRICE! This fullfills all those extremely easily.

This player has a 40...

Delicious CD Player

by animal2b , Apr 24 '01
Pros: Small, good battery life, 40 second shock protection.
Cons: No radio.
This CD player is awesome. I was at the store (bestbuy) looking at what to buy, and ofcorse, the guy kept saying "Get the Sony G Protection." blah blah, cuz this CD player was 70 bucks and that Sony was like...98 at the time, so I kept saying there seems...

This is a great product for its price

by konspirator01 , Feb 01 '02
Pros: very affordable, it has everything i need in a cd player
Cons: does not have a lot of the high-tech features found on more recent models
I've had this CD player for a long time now (a year or more, i think...). It has served me well and I have no major complaints about it. When I went to buy myself a portable CD player to keep me entertained on the long bus rides to and from school, I...

It only does one thing, but it does that very well

by hanseugene , Jan 31 '01
Pros: Stylish design, intuitive interface, super light-weight and portable, good S-XBS EQ, 40 second ASM.
Cons: No radio, crummy headphones. Long-term durability concerns?
I'm a kid with a frugal streak, a character trait mostly prompted by the fact that I have a very limited reserve of spare cash which I'm forced to spread across a very wide range of interests. However, even though I can't always afford the...

great cheap cd player

by jongpin , Jul 01 '01
Pros: cool design, exceptional anti-skip system, acceptable sound with earphones, pop-up disc eject system
Cons: no remote, slightly bulky, S-XBS sound
I bought my SL-SX270 cd player last year as my first CD player...9 months later it broke cause I accidentally dropped it...but I am giving out my opinion about this fine cheap CD player after 9 months of service. Now the one who succeeds into bringing me...
