Pros: Reliability, fun to drive, nice driving height, functional and relatively versatile. Cons: Slippery/boxy seats, mpg only 22-24 (advertised as car-like but gets truck-like mileage). The Bottom Line: Outstanding small SUV. Reliable, useful, fun to drive, looks good, and performs well. If you wanted more features, you probably didn't look at the car carefully enough before buying.
This vehicle accelerates as could be expected for a 4-cylinder engine. I'm going to put my foot in my mouth and say it: If you want more acceleration, you didn't know what you were buying. No one buys a 4-cylinder engine for acceleration! What I was ...

Pros: Gas mileage, maneuverability, small. Cons: Lacks power, road noise, small.
The RAV4 is a single vehicle capable of performing various tasks. It is reliable enough to be used to commute daily, take a trip to the beach, or rummage through a little snow to reach the slopes.
The 4WD version is capable of attacking mild...

Pros: Good Gas Mileage, Reasonable Pricing, Cute Cons: Needs more power, Needs more room in the backseats
First off, the RAV4 is Toyota's version of a "carlike" SUV. My parents bought this car for my brother's birthday. I recently had an opportunity to live with this car while my brother was out of town. When I first looked at the RAV4, I went...

Pros: easy to maneuver and reliable Cons: underpowered
I have had my Toyota RAV4 for just over one year and love it! Living in Colorado, it is a great vehicle for the snowy days. It is higher off the ground than the Subaru Forester, but not as difficult to maneuver as a full-size sports utility vehicle. I...

Pros: A lot of vehicle for the money...very comfortable ride. Cons: Not roomy enough in the rear seating area for long trips.
I recently purchased a Rav4 for my daughter, who graduated from High School and was heading for college. I researched small suv's for sometime and narrowed my choices to the Rav4 and the Honda CRC. While both are quality vehicles, and I would have...

Pros: Reliable, great visibility, handles like a car -- what's not to like Cons: None so far
There were no two ways about it -- I fell in love with the RAV4 the moment it hit the market several years back. My husband and I drooled over them at the dealership, practically shredded the brochure from looking at it over and over again, and...

Pros: Attractive styling, gas economy, ground clearance Cons: lacks power, poor leg/cargo room, cabin noise, pricey
The RAV4 is an attractively styled vehicle. The Limited Edition that I purchased has some nice features - dark tinted windows, alloy rims, all power features, and a nifty alarm with keyless remote.
Having driven mine for 5 months now, I have...

Pros: Looks great, handles well Cons: Cramped back seat
When my husband and I were considering buying a small sport utility vehicle, the RAV4 was the last on my list. The older models looked strange to me. We found a used 1999 RAV4 L with 35,000 miles on it at our local Toyota dealer and took it for a spin....

Pros: Fun, Sporty, Roomy, Great to Drive Cons: Plain Interior
I bought my RAV 4 in August and I totally love it! My RAV is four door, automatic, all wheel drive and came equipped with power door locks, keyless entry, alarm system, cd player and much much more. I did a fair bit of research before buying my RAV. I...

Pros: Handles well for an SUV, will haul a 27" TV with ease Cons: Seats not comfortable for everyone, will not haul a 60" table
The RAV4 is great fun to drive, on-road and off. It's roomier than a hatchback, with good ground-clearance. The small engine is surprisingly powerful. It's off-road performance is reasonable for a car, although it doesn't compete with a Jeep or...

I own a 1999 Toyota RAV4 and have enjoyed over 37,000 driving miles in it. Two words describe how I feel about my RAV4, SERIOUS FUN!. The Toyota RAV4 is the best small suv on the market today. It combines good gas milege, style, functionality and fun in...

Pros: Compact size, easy to maintain Cons: OK sound system
I traded in my Accord for a 4-door '99 RAV4 L over a year ago. It's been a good experience. Car-based SUVs are becoming more popular. The RAV4 was one of the first - it was introduced as a concept car back in 1989.
The RAV4 delivers everything...

Pros: good for city and country driving Cons: a bit small for taller passangers in the backseat The Bottom Line: This is good if you want a nice small truck for traveling and don't have a big family.
I bought my "baby SUV" in 2001. Since then, the only problem I have had with it is the battery. I had to replace the battery twice since I got it, but i'm guessing that's more the dealership I took it to's fault than the truck. I got it because of ...

Pros: fun, looks cool, mpg, it's a Toyota Cons: noisy; cramped rear seating The Bottom Line: It isn't a Camry or Maxima or a Jeep either, but it is a great little suburban-type SUV for those who want that kind of fun, practical, and well-built car.
We have a 1999 RAV4-L which has most of the usual options such as electric windows and locks, cruise, A/C, automatic, AWD, roof rack. It's a great little car, especially as a second family vehicle. Fun to drive around town with decent gas mileage...

Pros: all whell drive Cons: everything but all-wheel drive
I really think america is getting bad. I mean, toyota can market a celica with big tires and call it an SUV. I would love to see someone take a RAV-4 off road, or even over a curb. The Nissan Xterra, Jeep Cherokee or Jeep Wrangler would be a far...
