Good value, could have been better thought-out

by enidq , Jan 25 '02
Pros: Good sound, light and compact, long battery life, uses cheap media.
Cons: Weak navigation, earphone jack placement.
When looking for a portable MP3 player I considered units with flash memory and units with an internal hard disk. I didn't consider miniCDs until I took this off the shelf and thought about it.

The trouble with flash memory storage is that...

Slick little mp3 player.

by keisler , Dec 18 '01
Pros: small size, good battery life, wide mp3 bitrate support.
Cons: no id3 support, no wma support
In considering buying a portable mp3 player I considered three types: full-size 12cm CD players, memory based players, and 8cm CD players. I found 12cm CD players too bulky and I didn't need THAT much music on one cd. The point of the mp3 format is...

MP330: Great idea, good price

by groovehouse , May 16 '03
Pros: small size, big sound, plays MP3's on 3" media
Cons: no fast forward or rewind, can't track through songs
I've been wanting a CD player that plays MP3's, I've also been wanting an MP3 player. Well with this, I get the best of both worlds. I get a player that plays MP3's on CD but in a 3" format. The thing I like about it is I can play the MP3 discs on my PC...

Good concept, but poor execution....
by alkie_dt3000 ,Mar 20 '03
Good concept, but poor execution. It does what it claims - play audio and mp3's that have been burned onto mini cd's. The quality of audio is actually quite good with decent headphones (earbud type) out of the box. The equalizer feature is also a plus. Ships with very little documentation, you will have to learn to burn the cd's through trial and error. I used 10 cd's and only recorded 2 to my liking. Note that MP3's only have 8 second anti-skip protection. Also, in regular audio format, you can only burn about 5 songs. The software also crashed my brand new laptop every time I burned a cd. Unit is lacking most standard features, like mp3 song title read out. It's okay if you don't care what song you hear and in what order. I got mine cheap so I shouldn't really complain, but I would not recommend one to a friend. Doesn't match up to current digital portable players such as the Rio Sport S30S in features and doesn't match up to ease of use of full size cd players.
