Ultimate Earbuds

by cortexbomb , Aug 03 '02
Pros: Very comfortable, excellent frequency range, 3 sizes of earbuds, long cord.
Cons: Silly case, expensive, and, er, nothing?
I dislike earbud headphones, for one very simple reason: comfort. Or, more specifically, discomfort.

Perhaps I have non-standard-issue ear canals, but until I picked up these, I had no luck finding earbuds that I could wear comfortably for...

Best Boom for the Buck!

by ehwang , Sep 15 '04
Pros: Sound isolation, comfortable, reasonable price
Cons: No real case, asymmetrical design (see review), somewhat fragile cord
I've owned a lot of headphones since I first bought one of the original Sony Walkman players back in the 80's. I even have a pair of the first noise-canceling headphones and they still work. But for the price, nothing sounds quite as good as these little ...

by jimyster , Sep 21 '02
Pros: Quality Sound, great bass, totally emerge yourself into the music!
Cons: Plastic case for earphones is a total joke.
INTRO:
After purchasing my NomadII MP3 player (reviewed at http://www.epinions.com/content_70751981188 )I originally didn't plan on getting these earbuds, since it already came with a headset. But I wanted more...

Excellent earphones at any environment!

by minusflo , Feb 02 '02
Pros: Powerful bass, clean and clear treble.
Cons: Silicone earbuds require frequent cleaning due to cerumen build-up.
The Good:

I learned of this model from Sony a year ago as their first closed-type canal earphones created to celebrate the 20th year anniversary of the Fontopia line headphones. Being intrigued with the configuration and the isolation it...

All I Want to Hear is my Music!

by kdragon , Sep 27 '02
Pros: Small, portable, comfortable, great bass and sound isolation.
Cons: Too much sound isolation for certain situations
I recently bought an iPod and at about the same time my Sony Twin-Turbo earphones, which have served me well for the past 7 years, completely died. I started looking for a replacement that was small, comfortable, and portable with good bass response. I...

The perfect iPod earbuds!

by technolicious , Oct 08 '02
Pros: Good treble, powerful bass, great style
Cons: bass just might be too strong!
I recently purchased an Apple iPod, which is really fabulous. One of my only complaints about the iPod was that the included headphones are merely "good", instead of "totally great" like the iPod. After reading the reviews on these Sony earbuds, I...

Great performer in small package

by mimoid , Apr 09 '03
Pros: Rich and full sound
Cons: Bass is a bit too aggressive for some music and treble needs a little boost
After a long and painfully drawn-out debate between my appetite for great mobile sound and the size of my wallet, I finally decided that I would give the Sony EX70 a chance to show off together with my brand new S ony ...

Tiny but good - and don't use an amp!

by LetItRut Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Apr 24 '01
Pros: Good sound quality, isolation, comfort
Cons: Recessed midrange and bright treble
I was shopping on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago five months ago, and walked into the Sony Gallery. I was amazed at the wide selection of mostly inexpensive and potentially good-performing headphones. So I looked with suspicion at the Sony MDR-EX70LP...

Interesting concept that needs work

by andrewkchen , Jan 23 '02
Pros: Cool look, good bass, clear treble
Cons: Sound quality VERY dependent on fit in ear, uncomfortable, poor fit.
I recently decided to replace a pair of earbuds that I grew to love (Sony MDR-848LP) after I somehow managed to lose them. After much searching on the internet and B+M stores, I decided I would try the MDR-EX70LP as an upgrade. I ended up buying a pair...

SONY MDR-EX70LP nice, but flawed

by deftdrummer , Oct 15 '03
Pros: good sound, small design, STAYS IN YOUR EARS!
Cons: extension way too long, other cord too short, behind the ear design too much work.
LOOKS: I too own an ipod and wanted to keep the white sleek look of the ipod with my ear buds. Unfortunately i found out that these came in white off ebay (same place i got mine) by a certain seller. Either way, they are small, black and they fit in yo ...

great bass and ideal for students

by dragoon101 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, May 27 '01
Pros: great bass, low disturbance to others, very portable
Cons: useless case, mids are not as good
I purchased these headphones from Good Guys for $49.99 but I believe some online retailers sell them for slightly less.

Sound Quality:

These headphones are one of the best sounding portable headphones I have ever heard. The highs...

sound great, good idea, but overall not recommended

by bigboss , Aug 22 '01
Pros: very small. complete isolation. physically comfortable. good sound.
Cons: complete isolation. mildly disorienting because of plugged ears.
I recently bought a portable digital music player and the earphones that came with it were not very good. This seems to be a very common trend. Normally I would prefer the Sony "Streetstyle" headphones over earphones because they seemed to give overall...

Yet another positive review. This should tell you something.

by orulz , Apr 20 '03
Pros: Decent sound quality; comfortable; tiny
Cons: Wish the case was better; gets gooey with earwax
I'm a college student. Meaning that I'm way too poor to be an audiophile. True audiophiles are rich (or heavily in debt) elitists, and as much as I'd love to be one I just can't possibly pull it off. Regardless, I am picky about my audio equipment. I...

Great portable earbuds

by Chevyman16 , Jun 24 '01
Pros: Good sound, deep bass, isolation, durability
Cons: midrange, you have to clean earwax off the ends
After lots of research before deciding which earphones were best for me, I got these for $79.99 Cnd. at the Sony store plus I got a 3 year extended warranty just in case. I want to keep these things around for a while. I also got $5 off because I pointed...

EX70's -- The Perfect Choice.

by erux , Nov 22 '01
Pros: -Rich full sound with awesome bass. -Headphones can get loud without distortion
Cons: -Gets dirty easily -Carrying case is too small -Cord is a bit slim
I bought the Sony MDR-EX70SP (the difference between the SP and the LP is that the SP has a shorter cord with an extention rather than one long cord) from MiniDisco.com for $57--$57 well spent I say.

I was never sceptical about buying these...
