Sony Handycam® DCR-DVD508 Camcorder

Pros: crisp videos, Night mode recording awesome, make sure to change setting to brighten colors.
Cons: Battery life,frequent changing of recording disc,have the spare ready to go.

This is a very nice camcorder. I have not used the digital picture yet as I have a nice sony camera. so far I have record several events on the dvd rw disc which record 30 minutes in SP mode and 60min in LP. I have recorded everything in LP and the quality has been nice. The 5:1 stereo surround sound is very nice. It is lightweight. I had no problems getting the videos onto the computer and transferred to a dvd. each recording disc hold 1.7 GB of information and the DVD's are 4.7. so oyu can fit a lot of information on a disc. I have not edited video. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I bought it on the day it was released back I beleive it was 3/07. Get one you'll love it. I will be purchasing the longer battery, The supplied battery last about an hour with stopping and recording. If you have windows Vista you have to download the picture motion browser from sony's website. the included disc in the package is for windows operating system.
