Pros: Nice design, Extremely lightweight, Good sound, Comfortable keyboard Cons: Limited battery charge, No serial ports, Not expandable (Compaq's style)
Ever wondered if Compaq is still alive on the PC arena? With other giants in the field like Dell and Gateway, is pretty obvious to think twice when investing on a new computer nowadays.
As far as I can remember, I’ve never trusted Compaq and...
Pros: Great Bargain Buy, Good Laptop for Students and Beginners, Athlon 4 Power Cons: Only one truly user-alterable memory slot, Product Misrepresentation (Buyer Beware!)
Compaq, ever the bargain-basement strategist in the computer industry, sold thousands of its 1200 Series laptop over the course of mid-2000 through Fall 2001. Although an outdated and thick unit, the 1200 series was nonetheless a good laptop for the...
Pros: A powerful little package with great features. Price-wise, definitely the best yet. Cons: 3D graphics performance only average.
One of Compaq's latest 1200 series notebook, Presario 1215US, is probably the best notebook that has reached the market, in terms of price versus features. I bought it from Sparco.com at a bargain price. (Plus, you can now consider it as a...
Pros: Bright screen, touchpad, sound volume and quality Cons: removable bays, 1 pmcia card port
This computer is small – great for traveling, fairly light weight, fast, comes with a cdrw and DVD player and a 1 GHZ chip. What else do you need? It comes close to being a desk top replacement. This computer by the way uses the AMD Athlon 4 processor –...
Compaq 1215 is great for home use. It can also be used as an alternative to a desktop computer. It works great for small offices as well. 1215 has a new feature. It has an Athlon 4 processor.
Pros: Looks great, easy to use, nice graphics Cons: repair shop friendly, not enough memory to support its graphics, missing parts.
I have had this Presario laptop for almost a year now and have sent it out 5 times (6th coming up)to be fixed..the last time it needed to be fixed was on Compaq's error.
The 3D graphics are the best part of this operating system, although, it...
Pros: Quick boot, large HD, Great screen resolution Cons: Much thinker than my 2 year old IBM and more bulkier
I picked this computer up as a replacement to my well used and worn out IBM Thinkpad 400Mgz P2. The Compaq was a display item at my local CompUSA and ran me only $9875.75 after tax and a memory upgrade to 128 meg of ram and a two year warrenty from the...
Pros: Works OK until it quits Cons: Quits soon after warranty expires
This computer was a good purchase price-wise from Best Buy. After owning it for 1 1/2 years of trouble-free, extremely light use, it suddenly dies on me. Compaq-authorized service tells me it needs a new motherboard, about $500. This for a computer that...
I have had this notebook for almost 2 years. Two weeks before my warranty ran out, I had a problem. My DVD/CD-RW drive was having intermittent problems and the power supply connector broke off inside of the computer. I called tech support was given a return authorization number. They told me that they weren't sure if everything was covered under the warranty, since the power supply breaking off could have been my fault. I needed to get it fixed, so I told them to go ahead, but let me know how much it would cost. They sent a shipping box with shipping charges prepaid. In just a couple of weeks I received my computer back with a new DVD/CD-RW drive, the power supply connector repaired and a new power supply - all at no charge! I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of customer service I received. Everyone was pleasant and the turn around time was much better than expected. Plus, they repaired what could have been customer abuse under the warranty. I would recommend them highly.
