Pros: Great value for money, smart appearance with lack of cheap plastic parts, easy setup. Cons: Optimal picture takes some adjustments, initial setup requires coaxial hookup at least once.
After having our old 32" RCA for the last 10 years, it no longer seemed like the "Big" TV it once was when we first purchased it. The fact that it was still working beautifully after 10 years, 4 moves, and 2 kids, led us to search out another RCA ...
Pros: Attractive Styling; Great Picture; Advanced Technology; Built-in Progressive Scan DVD Player Cons: RCA'S Questionable Reliability
First, let me begin, by stating that I had serious reservations about purchasing an RCA product. Their reliability has not been as good as the competition (Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Sony etc.) I went to Circuit City to look at a 51" Hitachi HD Ready ...
Pros: Beautiful, clear picture. Easy to use menus and hook-ups. Cons: Sound quality leaves something to be desired.
My husband and I did our share of investigating when we decided to buy a big screen TV. We had a model picked out based on reviews and other information but then I picked up a copy of Consumer Reports' Biggest TV Issue Ever. The RCA models were not...
Pros: Picture, features, style, included progressive scan DVD, TV weight, price. Cons: Only one...the highly reflective, protective screen (not a showstopper).
When I originally started looking into the big screen HDTVs, I thought I would purchase a Hitachi, Sony, or Mitsubishi. No offense to RCA, but their reliability rating has not been reliable over the years.
Pros: Beautiful looking TV. Great picture when the right signal is fed to it. Cons: Long term reliability???? Just a hunch, hope I'm wrong.
After many years of waiting for a big-screen TV I finally made the leap. Up until now I have been quite disappointed with the image quality provided in RPTV's. My attitude was always that I would rather watch a perfect picture on my 32" Toshiba tha ...
Pros: Nice picture when it works. Cons: 1st replaced, leak in red tube. 2nd unit randomly switches from 16:9 to 4:3.
Everyone that sees it says "Great" or "It sure is big". But no one has seen High Definition on it yet because (A) I can't hook it up to my RCA HD DBS receiver because the jacks are not compatible & (B) I can't seem to get it to stay working long enough...
Pros: NONE Cons: Everythng you could think opf and then some.
I have purchased an rca scenium 62" projection tv August 2003. 2 months later I had a problem with the set. It would go on and off 3 or 4 times in a row and not go back on. I called a service tech for RCA and I had to bring in the set myself to have ...
Pros: Excellent picture quality. Superb line doubler. Looks great. Screen protector. Wide viewing angle. Auto convergence. Cons: DVD player uses on screen controls for chapter selection.
This is the way RCA used to make TVs, with an excellent picture. This is by far the best projection set for the money I have seen. I bought it in October 2002 at Circuit City and love it. The line doubler makes S-VHS tapes and satellite TV look great...
Pros: Great when it works Cons: RCA won't honor warranty, Won't replace TV.
Buying product is a BAD IDEA.
I bought this TV because of the big screen. It looked ideal in the Wal-Mart display. The warranty for 1 year probably made the sale. BUT: the TV only lasted 8 months. The projection lamp burnt out. I followed the directions to get a new lamp. I have been told I would get a new lamp 5 separate times. The lamp went out just before Christmas, and now February 16th, I was told another 7-10 days. They say the lamps are on back order. They have been on back order since Christmas. They refuse to allow me to return the TV, They won't send a lamp, I have a 1200.00 pile of junk sitting in my living room, with NO idea when or if they will make good on their warranty. Customer service is not in the USA, I can't understand them very well.
Pros: Great Picture for the price Cons: Costly to maintain ($1000 for the bulb every 2 years)
Be aware, this tv has a wonderful picture but a service man told me that there is a bulb in there that needs to be replaced every 2 years or so. The cost for this bulb is $1000. I kid you not. The service man has seen them burnt out in 6 months. Not worth spending that kind of money every few years! Please do your research about this bulb. In my experience RCA has had terrible customer support. Their support line, has people literally just read out of the manual, which I could do myself. Our TV went to the shop 3 times before they figured out the issue. RCA, according to the service tech, was absolutely no help to them either.
DVD Player Picture Problems by zeroplinko ,Oct 24 '03
Pros: Sleek, affordable, stylish, great stretch modes, cinerama rocks - I recommend this TV to anyone Cons: The only problem with this TV is the the way the dvd player handles reds.
I love this TV so much - The only problem that I experience is when using the guilt in DVD player, reds are downright horrible. I am having to purchase a new DVD player so the reds do not bleed, but this is the only problem i have with this TV and i have owned it for 1 year now.
