Pros: Lots of very clean power, Great connectivity, Tape monitor, Clean appearance. Cons: Complicated surround modes, poor sensing of digital and analog sources. Remote.
I was upgrading my home theater system and decided that I needed a better receiver than my 6 year old Kenwood (Dolby Prologic only) I wanted a receiver with ample power and lots of inputs for audio and video. I started looking at many different units...
Pros: Massive number of inputs, solid sound, very configurable, and inexpensive! Cons: Overload sensitive, very remote dependent.
The HE200 is one of the higher end receivers made by Panasonic, and one model higher than the highly rated HE100 which is designed for a broader audience.
The basics of the HE-200 is that it provides 6.1 channels, with 130 watts for each...
Pros: Great features, tons of inputs, surround sounds great, 2 switchable component video inputs Cons: I don't know enough about AV receivers to know if it has "cons"
I did quite a bit of searching before deciding on this receiver, and I'm very happy with my purchase. Contrary to what is on the product info page here, this receiver has 4 digital optical ins and a digital coaxial in, and one digital optical out, as...
Pros: Beautifully designed with clean controls layout. DD & DPL 2 are its best features.
Cons: Remote is poor & limited. DSP modes useless. Not enough power for movies.
I purchased one of these receiver when Sears Canada had a no GST(7% tax) sale plus someone in the store underpriced the unit by 40 Cd. dollars so all in all I saved about 90 dollars compare to the regular price. Since this is my very first DD receiver...
Pros: Sounds wonderful. Lots of inputs. Cons: Inferior FM reception, no main preamp outputs, ungainly input (component) selector, no sleep timer.
I paid Shop Harmony $179.95 plus $19.95 shipping and handling for a refurbished SA-HE200 Panasonic home theater receiver. It arrived in just a few days, looking and performing exactly like a brand-new one from the factory. After all, the factory ...
Pros: Lots of inputs. Powerful. Clean design. Inexpensive. Panasonic reliability. Cons: Sliding door on the remote. Runs warm. More detail needed in op guide
I replaced a Sony STR-DE675 with this receiver - and got an incredible price on this unit in September of 2003. The Panasonic SA-HE200 was being closed out at Circuit City - I picked up an open box display system on the shelf for $239. Has all the ...
Pros: Clean sound, easy front controls Cons: Complicated combination of surround sound modes.
After spending a great deal of time and energy devoted to finding a quality replacement for my ultra-clean sounding Hitachi receiver, I finally stumbled upon the SA-HE200K. This thing instantly struck my fancy, and when I was able to purchase it locally...
Pros: Pristine sound.
Excellent channel separation.
Very attractive look (mine is silver). Cons: Limited options to combine digital signal and DSP modes.
I am living with this receiver for a month now. I upgraded to 6.1 from Yamaha RX-V595a. I like its ...
Pros: Easy set-up, banana plugs, great sound, high current, DTS ES/NEO/DD EX Cons: Remote could be more solid, excellent functionality, but feels cheepish.
I spent a lot of time looking for my next reciever, I have always had Kenwood gear, and have been, for the most part very satisified.
My decision came down to 3 reciever's the Panasonic SA-HE200(the one i bought), the Kenwood VR6070, JVC 9010. All...
Pros: Inputs-o-plenty; Phono input and Tape monitor; 130w per channel! Cons: Annoying remote control slide cover; can't adjust bass and treble in surround mode
Pound for pound, you're not going to get a better receiver for the money. After I purchased the SA-HE200K, hooking everything up to it was very simple....everything from the banana plug connections to the optical inputs. The surround sound features ...
Pros: Great Sound, has phono jack, Cons: Runs hot - Cooling appears insufficient, Remote
Bought this unit 5 years ago. Went with the SA-HE200 because of reviews, had a phono jack, sounded good. Had great sound for that span. A previous reviewer stated that it runs warm and it does. We had to keep the door on the entertainment center open or it would overload. Two weeks ago the heat finally did it in. The finals of the amp are gone - looks like $50.00 for a pair.
I also had to resolder the Component video jacks a few years after I got it - an intermittent signal from the DVD player.
in short I was not real impressed with the workmanship but I work in electronics and most stuff seems to have solder problems (had to redo the power supply portion of my Hitachi TV as well and just redid a remote to get it working).
Pros: great quality and value Cons: the remote is not very ergonomic
no ability to switch optical inputs from the remote
The SA-HE200 is a great home theatre receiver. I bought it over a year ago. The quality and value are outstanding! I'm using it to power a true 6.1 system for DVD, digital cable, and video games. The sound quality is great. No noise or distortion generated even at high volume levels. The output is sufficient for a 16x20 room. The optical inputs have zero problems. The component switching capability provides a great picture for progressive scan DVD and video game signals. It switches to DD EX and DTS ES automatically based on my DVD output. I've never had a receiver that was easier to set up.
Nothing in it's price range comes close, not even remotely close! by freaknugget ,Nov 26 '03
Pros: 6.1 at an affordable price, amazing sound, lots of connectivity, sturdy Cons: Instruction manual is unnesesarily complicated, no aux A/V output, thats about it
I've allways been a Panasonic fan but this is AMAZING. The cheapest similar featured amp I could find was well over doulbe the price of the SAHE-100 and when it came time to test it it PALED in comparrison to the SAHE-100.
I've had it for about 5 months now and have put it through some heavy testing with various types of media, it performs far beyond expectations with no technical problems at all.
Awesome receiver for the money by tbob18 ,Aug 25 '06
Pros: Lots of power, cheap (under $300 on ebay), DTS-ES, DD-EX, NEO-6, Source Direct, Phono Input Cons: Horrible Remote, No Mid Adjustment, No hi-low Adjustment in Surround, Hard to set up
Great receiver, I am running two of them powering Wharfedale, Infinity, and Advent speakers and it sounds amazing when using a graphic equalizer, and a decent DVD player or sound card.
It has plenty enough power for a typical 15x15 living room (I hit 110db in a 15x12 room with the subwoofer off).
