Nuby Variable Flow Non-Drip Nipples - 6-Pack - It sucks but your infant can't!

by LisaDo Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Oct 11 '06
Pros: Variable flow, non-drip, teething nubs, easy to find.
Cons: Infant might find it hard to use, Jesse hated it.
Somehow I ended up with a couple of the pickiest babies in the world! With both Zack and Jesse, I've had to change out bottles and nipples until I found ones that they liked. As with Zack, by the time I found a nipple that Jesse would use, I could no ...

Milk goes in, but doesn’t come out – no matter what…

by bodashe Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Aug 25 '08
Pros: Good idea in theory…
Cons: They just don’t work at all…
I have never known a child more difficult to feed than my three month old, Caty. 100% breast isn’t getting it. I’m tired of trips to the hospital for dehydration. I constantly smell bad because of formula with cereal coming back up again. I’m lookin’ for ...

Nuby Variable Flow Non-Drip Nipples SUCK, and it's not a pun.

by meltedmama , Dec 08 '06
Pros: Um, they've got lovely "teething?!" prickly bumps.
Cons: Drippy, messy, cracked in dishwasher, baby cannot "suck" milk out of nipple, useless!
These Variable Flow Non-Drip Nuby Nipples suck. Go to: http://www.luvncare.com/ to see more, or to complain, would you? I bought a six-pack to go along with some of the Nuby bottles I picked up at the same time at the store. I saw the "NON-DRIP" on ...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these nipples
by mjhark ,Feb 02 '07
Pros: They are leak resistant, I can shake the bottle without putting my finger over it.
Cons: Need replaced more often than trad. nipples, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice.
I Love these nipples. They are the best if you ask me. My baby loves them. There is a con though. the leak thingie in the nipple wears out slightly prematurely, but, I like the leak resistance enough that I am willing to buy more before I would have with traditional nipples. My baby gums on the teething nubs, and enjoys it. Overall, we have had an excellent experience with them.

My baby had a hard time using it...no sucking?
by c62kk93 ,Mar 03 '07
Pros: The teething nubs are a great idea.
Cons: the "no sucking" feature proved difficult for my daughter to master
We tried the Nuby Nipples after my baby suddenly rejected her usual bottle. While the teething nubs were a hit with my baby the awkward design of the nipple itself proved too difficult for her to master.

The teething nubs, located at the base of the nipple, enticed my child to chew at the base forcing milk out when she didn't expect resulting in choking. The teething nubs, which are also located on the bottle ring and handles became a distraction to my child as she turned the bottle into a glorified teether. The nipples are comparatively small among competitors and the baby occasionally sucked too much in her mouth in attempt to get milk out.

The concept of a non-drip nipple good, however the function does not support the concept. The bottle does not drip when held upside down but it's difficult to get milk out. Unlike traditional nipples that use a combination of sucking and jaw/tongue movement the nuby nipples rely completely on tongue movement which left my baby confused and frustrated.

I complement the bottle design, the baby really liked the bright colors/shape/weight and handling ability. She liked everything except the nipple itself.

HORRIBLE!!
by katieeverest ,Jun 04 '07
Pros: none
Cons: theyre entirely useless
I bought Ella a whole bunch of Nuby (bpa free) bottles and she cant drink from the Non-Drip nipples. After contacting the company(10 emails), and being sent the wrong kind of nipples, (the normal wideneck nipples cant be bought online or in stores ) Im ready to pull my hair out!

So anyway, the bottles are cute but very hard for baby to drink from and the people at Nuby are all a bunch of jerks! Well, probably not, but they are incompetent.

Nuby nipples suck
by lilantung ,May 03 '08
Pros: non-drip feature anti colic feature raised offset surface to message gums
Cons: bad for proper breastfeeding teaches baby to hurt nipples when breastfeeding.
My baby tried to suck for 10 minutes. After I put the bottle down to burp her, I saw that she had not drank nothing and wondered why. I noticed the nipple did not have a hole. I tried to suck on it myself but couldn't get anything out. Then I noticed that I had to use my tongue to squeeze the edge of the nipple to open the cross-cut hole. This feature is suppose to be the non-drip feature but it is its own downfall because baby has to squeeze the nipple with her tongue. Bad idea for any baby.

This feature goes against breast feeding. If my baby is to ever learn to breastfeed, she would learn to squeeze my nipple with her tongue. This would cause pain.

My conclusion: don't get Nuby's non-drip nipples. It's bad for breastfeeding and goes against the proper breastfeeding technique.

Love these!
by shannono11 ,Jul 15 '08
Pros: No leaks, no spills, Easy to clean
Cons: I've only found them online
I bought some of the non-drip bottles after the BPA craze, and my son loves them! His old bottles would spill in the car and at home when he would toss them, but these never leak or spill. I just ordered 12 more!
