"I just called to say I Love You"

by SIAMESE2 , Jun 22 '00
Pros: long battery life, a lot of useful features
Cons: cut off in middle of conversation a few times
When my wife, Jennifer was pregnant last year, I knew I would need a cell phone in case something happened when I was on the way to work or out and about. I also work 25 miles away from home, and if my car breaks down and there are no phones around for...

Are All Nokia's Created Equally?

by kiko , Jan 20 '00
Pros: Many features, small and sturdy, chic
Cons: No web, battery troubles
The Nokia 6185 is one of the better phones out on the market today. It is a more loaded cellular phone than the 5 series phone. But the interface of Nokia's make them easy to use, in general. There are many accessories that can be used with the Sprint...

A redheaded 6100 Stepchild?

by d5kenn , Jan 07 '00
Pros: Vibration-mode built in, custom rings for phonebook entries
Cons: Battery life is shorter than 6160/6190, large Li-Ion battery adds to phone size
I've used several Nokia 6100 phones in the past year, including the 6160, 6190, 6162, and even the 5190. The 6185 is my latest phone (and is Nokia's latest 6100-series device), and is the standard high-end Nokia selection for Sprint PCS. As most...

Doorstops? Or expensive game consoles? (updated 8/21/00)

by sprint_sucks , Aug 16 '00
Pros: Small, full-featured phone. Easy to use menus.
Cons: SprintPCS (SprintPCS is evil. Eeeee-vil!)
** UPDATE: 8/21 **

The Nokia 6185 may be partially responsible for the problems I had with SprintPCS. According to SprintPCS, the upgrade Nokia provided for their phones was incompatible with the SprintPCS network. Alledgedly, without the...

Takes a Lickin... (revised 8/03)

by Plumdogger Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 22 '00
Pros: Very Durable, Good Quality
Cons: Kind of Bulky, Very Popular Phone
The Nokia 6185 is the first wireless phone I have purchased, and I like it so much, that my next phone will be a Nokia also.

First of all, I could not live without my cell phone. But I didn't know that until I had one. As a tennis pro that...

Nokia 6185 on SprintPCS is a flop

by rbeer , Oct 15 '99
Pros: excellent user interface and overall aesthetics
Cons: poor cellular performance and battery life
Nokia has an outstanding reputation from delivering many high quality and innovative cellular phone products. Over a year before this review was written, I purchased a Nokia 6160 phone for use on Cellular One's 800mhz TDMA network in the SF Bay Area,...

Another good Nokia!

by aaamethyst , Apr 26 '00
Pros: Great phone, lots of options
Cons: none
I just bought this phone updating from a Nokia 2170. It took a little getting used to, but this has turned out to be a good phone with a lot of advantages.

It's very small, but aren't all new cell phones? It's extremely light-weight. It has...

What a great phone....NOT!

by casualsuede , Aug 30 '00
Pros: Cool paint job, nice looking phone.
Cons: Poor call performance and dropped calls; bad reliability
Bought this phone through Circuit City on a Sprint plan and it dropped more calls that Moe Williams drops footballs. The phone feels solid and looks decent in it's metallic green paint job, but it's sound quality and call performance was lacking. This...

A Strong Buy!

by dboc_99 , Jun 14 '00
Pros: Silent Ring option, Calendar organizer
Cons: None
While there are several choices of Nokia 6100 series phones now on the market, the 6185 is the best choice. If you have $180 or so, I highly recommend you pick one up. There are several reasons why this is a good buy.

The first reason is that...

Great Phone - Many Features

by pstreet7 , Nov 23 '99
Pros: great looking, dual-band, vibrating ring
Cons: a little bulky
I have had the 6185 for a few months now and love it. It may not be as light and compact as the Motorola phones but the features on it will go beyond your expectations.

The best thing I like about it is that it not only rings but it vibrates...

An oldie, but a goodie.

by kingsoju , May 24 '00
Pros: Phone (form and menus) are very ergonomic.
Cons: When signal's weak, calls get dropped.
You know, it's too bad that Sprint PCS has classified this phone as a "closeout" phone. Given its quirks, the Nokia 6185 is one of the most ergonomic cell phones out there.

The LiIon battery that Sprint PCS bundles with the phone...

Why I bought this phone: A wireless rep's reasons

by molly143 , Sep 24 '00
Pros: Ease of use, features, range and reception
Cons: May cost more than some people want to spend on a wireless phone.
First off, when beginning my employment with a new and exciting digital PCS company, I was given a large choice in the phones I could use for work. My choices were between the Nokia 5170, Nokia 6185, the Motorola StarTac, and the LGP-2300. Having...

by regularopinion , Jun 05 '01

Pros: Sound quality, convenient features

I have owned two Nokia phones since 1998. I first started with the Nokia 6160 when I was on the US Cellular Network in Tallahassee, FL. I then purchased a Nokia 6185 when I signed on with Verizon Wireless after moving to Fort Lauderdale, FL. My...

Good Features, Bad Phone

by jonnysnakes , Aug 12 '00
Pros: Menus, looks
Cons: Bad reception, Phone CRASHES, crappy design
After looking around for a few months for a good mobile phone, I decided to try out the Nokia 6185. Aside from being a very stylish phone, I found the menus very intuitive and heard positive remarks about the Nokia brand name. I also bought the phone...
