I have very thick and curly/kinky-textured hair as a Black woman, and it's very difficult to find a shampoo that doesn't strip the natural oils from my hair nor leave it feeling like a bale of hay.

I found this shampoo pleasant-smelling, rather easy to lather up, and it cleaned my hair while not making it squeak (that's when i know all the precious natural oils are gone). AND the product is affordable, so that's a plus.

I am so impressed with this neutrogena triple moisture shampoo,and the seperate conditioner, i was leary of the word triple moisture, being my hair is long, and i do blow dry it twice a day.WOW,WASi impressed, this shampoo does clean your hair, and moisturises it evenly, no weighing down my hair, being its a combination hair type, my hair is long and straight, and i love the luxurious lather this brings out, heavy duty later, well.... being i live here in honolulu, hawaii our water is softer, and does make alot of lather for shampoo's and soaps, this triple moisture does not have much scent, but i really dont mind, its the performance it does, it did soften my hair, left it clean, manageable, and shiny, and it didnt weigh down my long straight hair either!! This product is EXCELLENT for any hair types except oily scalp and hair, it worked "GREAT" For my hair, and my hair is combination type like my complexion.

This shampoo, should have been exactly what my hair needs. I have dry course hair that needs a good dose of moisture. However this shampoo failed to live up to all that I had hoped . I was drawn to this product from reading many favorable reviews and of course by the great price. I all too often waste money on expensive salon formulas, so I decided to try something less expensive.
The shampoo is unexceptional to say the least. The lather while creamy, feels thick and hard to lather. The fragrance is average and very synthetic smelling. I also do not feel that this shampoo washes out well, there is definitely a lot of residue, this only weighs down and dulls my hair.
I would not recommend this shampoo, dry hair looking for some TLC should look elsewhere.

My hair has been highlighted for 25 years, I spend time outdoors, blow dry, use a curling iron, etc. I've been a fan of Neutrogena products for many years, and decided to give this shampoo a try. It ranks right up there with some of the best beauty salon shampoos (and costs a lot less!).

If you DON'T have dry hair, don't be fooled by the "triple moisture" name...this shampoo can be used by just about any hair type unless you have extremely oily hair. Several friends have reported fabulous results and even my husband -- who hates conditioners -- loves this shampoo. No need to use the conditioner unless you are looking for extra moisture.


"Triple Moisture" doesn't have a scent but that doesn't particularly bother me. It feels so wonderful when you are rubbing it into your head that it makes up for that small weakness. Afterwards my hair felt so manageable, shiney and silky -- almost like it was in high school. You'll notice the difference immediately!

"Triple Moisture" doesn't make my hair feel "weighed" down but after several weeks, I switch to a lighter shampoo a time or two before going back to it.

Pros: Great results for an excellent price.
Cons: I am still not famous, oh well.

I recently dyed my black/brown hair into platinum with horrible results. Since I had done it myself the damage was awfull. My niece who is a professional fixed it. Now I have to keep it up. I went to the store and found this triple moisturizer conditioner and decided to buy it since the price was so decent. I am glad I did. I went from fried, frizzed out, glued to my head, desert dry hair to soft, smooth, shiny and volumizing hair. In fact my friend who had seen the damage asked me what I had done to my hair, since it looks like something from a Vogue magazine.
I went back to the store and purchased the entire line, the shampoo, the serum, the leave in conditioner and frizz conditioner. It simply fantastic. And it really was Neutrogena to the rescue.

I decided to buy this product based on the positive reviews I found on this website.... terrible mistake !!! to describe my hair in a few words : coarse, frizzy and damaged from excessive hair coloring . But I did not notice any dandruff /itchiness problem until I purchased Neutrogena .... not only it did not moisturize my scalp/hair, but also I have never experienced this kind of dandruff and itchiness in my life. And on top of all, I had also used the moisturizinfg hair mask , by Neutrogena. According to the label , my hair should have felt silky and nourished... but nothing like that. The shampoo does not lather well and the hair is dirtier than before . I am definitely going back to Clairol - Herbal Essences, which is not as expensive but definitely not damaging my hair and scalp like this one did . I do not recommend this shampoo for ANY type of hair.

This is by far the best shampoo ever. I took it on a trip to Italy with me and I've been using it ever since. My hair is so much healthier and full bodied now. Highly recommend and worth the $$.

Over the last 4 years I have regularly taken my naturally very dark brown extremely thin hair from dark all the way to light blond, through every shade of red, back to the browns and now to the carrot top reds without suffering severe damage to my hair because of this terrific line of products. I have tried all the AVEDA shampoos and conditioners for color treated and dry hair, which were good products, but did not work as well for my hair as Neutrogena.
