Pros: Smells great; I think it might actually work on straight and slightly wavy hair Cons: Doesn't work on my curly hair; made my hair limp
I really like to experiment with hair products, especially high-end products because they never fail to surprise me with their quality and the wonderful things they can do for my hair. I do like to experiment with drugstore brands too, though, and over ...
I like mostly all the John Frieda products I have instead of this stuff because it doesn't do anything for me. I have pin-straight hair. I need mousse, gel, and hairspray and about a half and hour to scrunch my hair. I thought John Frieda Ocean ...
Pros: It does give beachy hair... Cons: But is beachy hair really all it's cracked up to be?
This past summer, my friends were all constantly raving over a product called John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea Spray Texturizing Styler. I'm a major sucker for hair products, so naturally I had to have it. So, What Is It ...
Pros: Great smell, defines waves and curls Cons: Can make hair look oily, may not suit all people
Introduction... My mother is Asian and my father is Australian. Instead of inheriting dead straight black hair from my mothers side, I have inherited dark, and slightly wonky and messy black hair instead. Sometimes my wonkey, wavey and ...
Pros: Beachy look, great scent Cons: At almost $6 a bottle, if you have longer hair, this can get expensive!
First things first, gentle readers. My hair sucks. Sure, once I've gone throught "the process" as I affectionately call it, It looks moderately to quite good. However, the process itself sucks. I have to wash and condition daily (I can't ever ...
Pros: Great smell, makes hair shiny, defines waves without stiffening them Cons: Too much can cause tangles and a greasy look...a little goes a long way!
I've got a weird hair combination...thick, fine, natural blonde, and naturally wavy. So usually, my hair is sortof flat on top and real big everywhere else..separated "s's" at the bottom. I tried John Frieda's sea spray and WOW. lots of volume all over..brought out every single wave and defined it beautifully! My hair looks and feels incredible. Most texturizers make your hair stiff, but I can still run my fingers through it and even comb through it to produce more glamorous and less tousled waves. The key too keeping it from looking greasy is to hold it out far when you spray and also spray it at the bottom half of your hair..nowhere near the roots.
Pros: Smells wonderful, no "crunchy" feeling Cons: None unless you have very fine and poker straight hair
I have very thick hair with a slight bend to it and usually it looks very blah so I decided to give the Ocean Wave Sea Spray a try to see if it would at least give me a little body. It gave me so much more. I followed instructions on the bottle which is to spray on wet or dry hair and gently scrunch hair. I definetly think it works better on wet hair than on dry and I did have nice waves and even a few curls with no "crunchy" feeling. If your hair is not thick this product will probably give you a greasy look and probably isn't for you but once again I have very thick hair and I think it worked great. The price is kind of high and the bottle doesn't last very long for the amount of hair that I have but I loved the effect it gave me so much that I am already on my 4th bottle.
John Frieda Ocean Wave Sea Spray=Hair Looking Great by fastpaceqt08 ,Jul 31 '05

Perfect Air-dry product! Smells amazing! by lehh ,Apr 30 '06
Pros: Perfect style for air-drying thick and or dry/frizzy hair. Cons: May be too heavy for fine, limp hair.
Whenever I use this product or John Frieda's Gold Rush shimmer gel (both have the same scent) I get so many complements! Especially from men! They say it reminds them of the beach. Ocean Wave Sea Spray Texturizing Styler is the product I use on a rainy, humid day, when there is no use in blow-drying and stying my hair. The two tricks to using this product are to use a LITTLE BIT and not to try and blowdry and/or straighten your hair. Let it dry naturally and it will wave beautifully without extra frizz. This product makes it soft and controllable yet gives that fresh, tossled wavy look. I would reccommend this product for use on thick hair.
Pros: great for all hair types, easy to use, long lasting Cons: the only con is its discontinued
why would they ever discontinue this product? Ocean waves was the most amazing hair product out there you could put in on after the beach or when going out to the club it smells great it's easy and it doesn't make your hair greasy the new alternative brilliant brunette starlit waves is terrible it does absolutely nothing to your hair spraying on plain water is better than the starlit waves Bring ocean waves back!!!!!!!Us eastshore surfer chicks are lost w/ out it
Pros: Great smell, works well to texturize hair Cons: Pricey
While it may not be a huge styling break thru, it is a helpful product and I'm quite happy with most of the stuff in the John Frieda line. At first glance the bottle is comprised of two blue liquids in which you shake up to "blend" before spraying.
The smell is very beach-esque and extremely pleasant. Its hard to exactly describe but its a coconut-like scent that is remiscent of some sun tan lotions. Its very light, crisp and refreshing.
The product is used in damp/wet hair to add texture and definition and to create a wavy "beach-like" look. I have very straight hair and find its helpful for giving my hair extra texture and more a more lively look, rather simply dull and straight.
While this is no miracle product, it is a helpful aid in giving hair some extra kick and liven it up a bit. I'm not sure if its a seasonal product or not, but lately I haven't seen it in stores and previously recall seeing it marked down in a few places, so possibly it might be a discontinued item now.
Bring it back to the market please!!! by cloo87 ,Jul 01 '07
