Strange Form Leads to Great Function

by JBigDog , Jul 15 '04
Pros: sound quality on both ends, volume
Cons: none
An advantage of a bluetooth cellular phone is the ability to “connect” devices to it without the use of wires. The two devises use radio-like signals to transmit information. The Jabra Freespeak BT200 is one such device. It is a wireless ...

Wow. No Wires. Okay. I get it.

by icedspam , Dec 21 '03
Pros: comfortable
Cons: not THAT comfortable, i look dorky with it, and walls.
[Jabra BT Headset used with Sony Ericsson T610/616 cellular phone- Service: TMOBILE AREA: ST.LOUIS,MO] Okay, lets get through the fact that there are no wires connected. I say this because, people whom I talk to, seemed to be infatuated with the ...

Jabra wow

by objuan911 , Dec 17 '04
Pros: Great clarity, comfort, no touch dialing answering
Cons: Outdoor pickup
This is an update review now after 8 months I have had a series of headsets. I have tried all the most "comfortable" headsets available. I agree with the premise that talking on the cell phone in the car increases the risk of accidents, if only ...

This wireless earpiece rocks.

by mithundutt , Apr 30 '04
Pros: ergonomic , easy to use.
Cons: battery life not as expected.
This wireless earpiece rocks. "Jabra FreeSpeak is the ultimate hands-free and wire-free solution that connects your mobile phone to your headset via Bluetooth radio technology instead of a wire." I hated the design of the older wired headsets. I ...

No wires ...What else can you ask for?

by jim23jam , Oct 13 '05
Pros: Comfort, easy to set up and use and great reception and clarity.
Cons: Headset size turns some off but try one before you turn your nose up.
I have owned this headset for well over a year now and I have to say that I absolutely love it. I bought this headset after I already had a Sony/Ericsson T-616 phone. I was pretty unfamiliar with Bluetooth until I got the phone so I went out and did some ...

Good technically, terrible warranty support
by rfriedeman ,Aug 16 '04
Pros: When it works, it works well
Cons: God-help you when it breaks. Only for pack-rats who never lose receipts (or give gifts)
While my BT200 headset worked, it worked beautifully. Easy to use, great audio, good talk time. Unfortunately for me, it dropped dead at 6 months old.

That shouldn't have been a problem, since it has a one year warranty. I didn't have a receipt, however, and there was no registration card when I got it, so Jabra wouldn't honor the warranty.

I'd been a long time Jabra user, being very pleased with both this headset and several of their wired headsets over the years. Their warranty policy, however, is based on the assumption that the customer is a lying bastard, which to me is bad business. You can bet that there will be no Jabra devices anywhere near my ears ever again.

Good sound, poor fit
by larinindy ,Mar 02 '06
Pros: Great sound, both ways.
Cons: poor fit in the ear. Not adjustable. Sound quality varies with distance.
While this fits snugly behind the ear, the earbud doesn't come near the ear, and I'm constantly having to put my finger up there to push it closer. There is no adjustability, and it gets pretty annoying sometimes.

The sound quality is really good, both ways. And it's convenient, but any wireless hands free would be. The claim of "Use it at 30 feet away" is wishful thinking. Try 12 feet.

I've had this about 6 months, but I'm going to spend the money and change brands for a better fit.

Jabra needs to make the loop adjustable from side to side, so it will curve inward, toward the ear canal.

great idea, short life-span for this product
by pingy1 ,Sep 24 '04
Pros: nice clarity within a few feet range from cell. Comfortable fit and easy to use.
Cons: NO durability. falls apart within a year. Battery life gets shorter & shorter w/longer use.
Loved my Jabra when I first got it. Bought one for my husband too! Within the first 3 months the paint/color started fading and peeling off. The distance between my phone and headset were just a few feet until it got scratchy....didn't bother me too much as long as long as the sound was clear within that range. However, when the exterior started fading, the earpiece anchor started to fall apart and broke off. Couldn't put my earpiece on...Called the Jabra CS and they said it wasn't covered under warranty....suggested I 'superglue' it. Did it and the whole headset stopped working. Thought maybe it was a fluke that I had a bad headset, so bought another one. My husband's started falling apart too. My new broke within a few months! I have owned 3 Jabra's all together and they have all fallen apart within an 8 month period! I would seriously consider not buying this product as it has a very very short life-span...expensive!

Jabra FreeSpeak
by jeffrfts ,Jul 19 '04
Pros: I really like the headset and the freedom it gives me.
Cons: The heads starts to vary in volume after about a week or so.
I bought the Jabra FreeSpeak BT200 for my LG UX6000 Camera Flip Phone. Once I got the unit set up I used it and was comfortable with it. It worked well for a week or so, then the volume at the head set started to vary depending on the proximity of the phone. I called Jabra and they said it was my phone that was the problem. I took it back to the Verizon Store where I purchased it and the salesman said that bluetooth was in its infantcy and varied some.
against hes judgement I exchanged it for a new one. That one worked for another week new one. I used it fine for another week, then it started to vary in volume again.
I am at a loss as why it keeps malfunctioning. I really like the headset, the freedom It gives you. Can any one help me? Jeff.rfts@verizon.net.
