Pros: Beautiful display, elegant design, 4 programmable quick launch keys, USB Cons: BIOS update needed right out of the box to solve aggravating system lockups.
Purchased the unit, brought it home, plugged it in, and for three days fought with taking it back due to the necessity of needing a BIOS update to prevent system lockups that occurred EVERY 20-30 min like clockwork. Fortunately the update is available on...
Pros: Good keyboard, screen, and a lot of features for the money Cons: Heat, instability, unreliability
Note: HP has forums on their site at http://bizforums.itrc.hp.com/cm/Home/1,,2,00.html where you can find more information on their products. I highly recommend visiting the site before purchasing.
My review will be short and to the point....
Pros: solid performer, great display, stylish design, many more Cons: "tin sounding" speakers, wireless support missing, gets pretty hot!
I've been using the HP Pavilion ze1250 for about two months now. I based my decision to buy this model on the fact that I'm a big fan of the AMD chips, there were plenty of features, and it just looked cool. In fact, the looks are probably what you'll...
Pros: Fast.Display. Great Desktop Replacement. Light. Beautiful. Combo Drive, 30gig hard drive, 512Mb RAM, Firewire Cons: No S-video out. Comes with cheaper Corel Office (not Microsoft Office).
Let me start off by saying this is an outstanding performer. I do a lot of video and music editing on my desktop and needed something that would perform the same on the road. My desk top is a custom built system with:
The computer locks up all the time for no reason and the battery has to be taken out to reset it. The modem only works part of the time. The LCD cracked for no apparent reason (the computer stays on a desk as a desk top replacement) -- when I shipped it...
Pros: GREAT LAPTOP POWERFUL ENOUGH FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE NEEDED IT FOR Cons: THE LONGEST MY BATTERY LASTED WAS AN HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES
I RECENTLY BOUGHT MY HEWLETT PACKARD HPPAVILLIONZE1250 IN TEXAS AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. THIS COMPUTER ON A SCALE OF ONE TO TEN, IN MY OPINION GETS A TEN EASILY. IT HAS A GREAT PROCESSOR, PLENTY SPACE ON THE LARGE TWENTY GIGABYTE HARD DRIVE, AND ENOUGH...
Pros: Attractive PC, Great PC if you want something that is undependable Cons: HP BAD customer service, battery issues, PC overheats LOUD CPU fan, no warning shut down
I have owned several HP PCs and I can say that by far this is the worst laptop I have ever had. If they had negative stars to classify it then it would be a negative 5 stars. I bet all he positive comment were written by HP developers, and if you could ...
Pros: Nice big screen Cons: EVERYTHING has broken on it
I've owned this about 2 years now. I bought it mainly for school. It runs incredibly hot--the fan ALWAYS seems to be kicking on. About a year after buying it I had some of my RAM go bad. I'm convinced it's due to the extremely high temps.
1.5 years after purchase and my battery would only hold a charge for 40 minutes or so. Not a big deal for me, since I usually am near an outlet. But when a replacement battery is $129, you don't expect to have to buy a new one less than 2 years after buying it.
ALSO--the PCMIA slot (where you put a wifi card) died about a year into ownership. I thought it was a software issue at first, but no, the actual hardware went bad.
ALSO--about a year into ownership the plug where the AC cord goes into had broken. I had bought a Best Buy service plan for it, so it was free to fix. But still.
Otherwise, I suppose it's ok. It does have a nice large bright screen. But overall, it isn't all that durable. I won't buy another HP.

Pros: low price, thin Cons: no floppy/serial-port, very hot, noisy, battery died, power-supply melted
I bought the laptop new for a little bit less than $1,000. However, it doesn't have a floppy drive nor serial port. It also only has one PCMCIA slot. Another disadvantage is, that the display is bigger than bottom part. Because it gets so hot that you cannot put it on your lap, I had to buy a special cooling plate just to use it. Because it gets so hot, the fan is always on which makes it very noisy. After about 9 months the original battery died. After complaining I finally got a replacement. Whenever the laptop gets too hot, it just shuts off, which is very annoying because you always loose your work. After 12 months and a few days the connector of the power supply melted. When I called they told me that the warranty expired a few days ago. However, I would be able to purchase a power supply for "only" $60. I guess most of the problems are related to the small form factor, which doesn't allow for enough cooling.
