Pros: Excellent food, Great Atmosphere, Convenient location, Prompt and Courteous Staff Cons: none
I grew up very close to El Sarape, within walking distance and have been going there for years and I must say it is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to this day. It has a quaint atmosphere, and is usually not overly crowded. The wait staff is very...
Though this restaurant is located in sleepy Weymouth Landing, it definitely serves up some of the most authentic Mexican food I've ever eaten, and I'm a big Mex food fan. The outside of the restaurant is definitely not impressive, it could even be...
Pros: Great authentic cuisine, great prices Cons: no reservations
This restaurant may not look impressive from the outside, but this restaurant has become one of my favorites. In the last six months, I have been there at least 12 times and have not encountered an average meal. They have house Margharitas that are...
Pros: Food and drink is top notch
Great people treat you like family Cons: None
I've lived in the Braintree/Weymouth Area for 5 years now and I've been to El Sarape well over 100 times. There is no finer Mexican food and drink in the Boston area and better yet, there is no finer group of people than the owners, employees, and ...
I have eaten at El Serape many, many times and have never had a bad meal! I especially enjoy the grilled pork tenderloin and the chicken mole. And the warm chips and salsa are terrific and they keep refilling all through your meal.If you are a coffee...
I was introduced to El Sarape a few years back & wondered how anyone knew of this restaurant.. It kind of blends in with the other shops on this strip. It is in a very busy area of Weymouth, but you can pass by it without seeing it.
Come and enjoy the most popular Mexican restaurant in Boston. I love how this resturant is just like being in Mexico because thay have all the food and stye. To be honest with you I do not eat Mexican food that often. But I would have to say my dish is...
Best Mexican Food outside of Mexico by dmlhikes ,Oct 15 '05
Pros: Quality food, excellent authentic and varied Mexican cuisine, great service Cons: Only wish they were on the north shore!
We've tried all the so called Mexican restaurants in the greater Boston area and have found nothing to compare to the food at El Serape.
They have a few of the basics, like tacos and burritos, but to really make your trip to this restaurant worthwhile, you must try any one of their many special dishes. We highly recommend both the carnitas and the queso asado for appetizers, plus any of their very fine fish and shrimp dishes, too many to mention and not all listed on their website.
Pros: great food, great service, good prices Cons: Decor is a little drab, but you won't notice once your food and drinks arrive.
This place is fabulous, the food is outstanding, the service is great and friendly. They have the best Margaritas, and the prices are reasonable. We used to go to La Paloma, which is also good, but this has been our favorite since we "discovered" it several years ago. We had seen it there in Weymouth Landing for awhile but never gave it a try, what a mistake!
Absolutely one of the South Shores best kept secrets. by rochie97 ,Oct 14 '05
Pros: The overall flavor of the food is something to make a routine of. Cons: As much wonderful flavor as the food has, Spicey is the key word.
I had past El Sarape for years without ever going in. What a waste. I visited them on a Friday night with a friend and the food was magnificent. The server was so polite and friendly. The entertainment was to die for, Alexander was performing as he does most Fridays & Saturdays and what a wonderful atmosphere he sets. Not too loud but still enough to make you want to jump up & dance. This place is a gem. I will be returning time & time again.
GREAT Place!!- the best Mexican food around, we have been going for years and will be going for many more. We recommend it to any one who wants real Mexican Food!!
Pros: Everything is 110%!! Cons: It's not in Las Vegas ;(
My wife and I have been El Sarape fans for several years! So much so that my wife "worked" there as a waitress while in college 2 years ago (For the regulars there there she was the blond German girl)! Wonderful people, wonderful food and the owners and wait staff are the best. Set a few mins from the expressway in the Landing, this oasis of fine dining is what MEXICAN food need in this country! The Margaritas are smooth and strong and with a wide great variety of tequilas and Margaritas this sets the stage for a fine night on the town.
The weekends have a bit of a wait but it is well worth it! Eat there once and you'll agree. My personal FAV is Pescado a la Crema, If you like fish, this is your dish!
We have since moved to LAS VEGAS, and this restaurant is the only reason I would move back! There is nothing to compare out here in Sin City, except the weather that is!
Pros: Not a bad meal in 16 years...not just the margaritas talking!! Cons: Can be too crowded on the weekends.
I have been dining at El Sarape for over 16 years. I have never had a bad meal. I have brought people from all over the country and from every age group. No one has ever not liked El Sarape! My only problem is that in 16 years I have always been too full to try one of their desserts!!
5 Stars from my husband & I.
