Is a dry bed worth the RISKS? NOT UL UNSAFE!

by maglib , Sep 12 '04
Pros: compact design. Psychological benefit. Price.
Cons: Potential strangulation concern. Safety Issues. Not loud enough. Electrical shock.
I have a 6.5 year old male bed wetter. He has seen his pediatrician and two urologists who say enuresis which basically is bed wetting. We tried eliminating caffeine, cutting out all liquids after dinner, waking him up every 4 hours, pull ups, letting ...

DryNite gave us Dry Nights

by ibmjas , Dec 04 '04
Pros: Really works, inexpensive
Cons: Clips may be difficult for a young child to work
My 8 year old son almost never had a dry night. After he outgrew Pullups we started using Goodnites which certainly work great but don't solve the problem. My son was missing out on sleepovers and was getting increasingly embarrassed about his problem. ...

Not working, yet!
by reb621 ,Oct 01 '05
Pros: Loud siren, does the job (sounds when it senses moisture, including sweat).
Cons: Not working for my daughter (7). She sleeps right through the alarm.
Alarm wakes me up, but not my little pee-er! She sleeps right through the loud alarm until I wake her, but still wets 2-3 times per night, 10-11pm, 1-2am, 5-6am. I'm exhausted (from lack of sleep and the endless laundry duty) and am resigned to keeping her in Pull-ups, etc. until she stops wetting (if ever). I now have her wear Pull-ups over her underwear (with alarm clipped to underwear). If you don't want to do 3 loads of laundry a day, consider having your child wear the alarm clipped to the seam of their underwear (girls=where the front and panty liner part connect), then wear Pull-Ups over them. This will keep her bed dry, but will still allow the alarm to sound. My daughter (7) sleeps right through the alarm, but she is wetting less (her underwear/Pull-ups are no longer soaked), so her body might be re-training itself now (hopefully!).
